Star Trek Online

One of the main dislikes so far is the scale of everything, the intro ship corridoors and things, its like a freaking gigantic hallway. Its missing that "i'm on a ship so the corridoors are narrow which will make for awesome firefights" feeling you get in the shows. The ships in reality are relatively small and hallways are narrow because of limited space. Things like the transporter pad, it feels like you're a tiny child in a massive giants ship. I don't know, I really think a Voyager: Elite Force type feel to the ground/interior ship stuff would feel so much more authentic.

Hows this for scale my ship is in a land of giants

Actually a bug, beamed down to the planet and it beamed a small version of my ship instead of my away team :D

Mmm is it me being a retard but is it hard to find mission stuff. It doesn't put a location on the map although someone said it did. I spent 30 mins looking for a NPC. Found him did a mission to beam on some ship. Did that then it said I had to warp out so no option to warp out. Was flying for about 5 mins before it said something about a warp... Then it said something about going to some place, so I found it now I'm here I cant see wtf it wants me to do :/

Other than that good game.

Revisit the earth spacedock in the Sol System now and again when you gain a level, as quests open up. Also make sure you hail people at the spacedock as new quests can be obtained quickly from it. You can do that by clicking on the hailing button beneath the minimap.

You can enter warp manually when you enter a system by clicking on the warp button just below the minimap. I think it's the first button on the second row.

Check your map when you're on a quest in a system, it often puts a white ring around the target area you need to be in, and obviously following the objectives in your quest log.

i dont like doing too much work in betas since i have to do it all again at release but damn did the game just keep pulling me along, loved it. TBH most of the bugs seems server stress related and well, a big part of OBs is stress testing the setup, and stress tested they were hehe

Aye they certainly got some stress testing of the server in. I wouldn't be suprised if they have on purposely set the server player limit and map login limit to low amounts to see how they would cope and buckle.

Just got to lvl 2 and the server dropped out, enjoying it, the groudn combat works well, I wish the space controls were more eve-esque, not really gelling with the movement controls on the ships, but I'm sure I'll get more used to it in time! :)

Really enjoying it when all is said and done, this guy is gonna end up down the martial eartist route, just for the laugh of it and to try it out in a "no loss" environment!

If it works out as well as TKA in SWG, I'll be so happy :D

Managed to get through the tutorial.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying it, but I'm certainly not enamoured with the giants in space scale to the ships or the MMO-ness of loads of people crowded round an NPC. :(

I'm going to give it a damn good seeing to tomorrow, hopefully I'll be having enough fun to ignore those aspects. :)

Have updated our friends list. Let me know if I have missed anyone :). Seems like you are all enjoying it. Not really playing much since I have already gone through a lot of this a few times, but I did prefer it when there were less people in closed beta :)
