Star Trek Online

My god how cheap are these borg, i lossing most of my sheild to exploding ships then they just finish me off, what a lot of crap !!!

Finally picked up the T5 ships before the event started, both are kick ass although the carrier requires quite a bit more micro management, plus it's absolutely massive and slow.

Negh'var Battlecruiser

Vo'Quv Carrier

Earth Station totally assimilated by Borg, massive ground battle but they just kept coming no one left

The cubes and spheres are hard as nails unless you team up but no end to them and getting a bit tired of fighting them now so went to DS9 for a rest ;)

Whats this one like to fly/combat with? Want to try one out.

I could only fit it out with the white energy credit gear but even with only that it really did feel like playing a tank. I could withstand being attacked for about 10 minutes if i used the shield repair drones in T5 PvP matches, it meant i was hardly doing any damage but the rest of the team were just picking off the other side while they dealt with the novelty of attacking a carrier lol.

The 2 bird of preys that you can launch do really good damage, i saw a fair few 4k and 5k hits from them but the only problem is that they don't last long as in are squishy like player BoP's and are on a much longer timer than anything else you can put in the hangers. The T'djo (sp?) fighters had a really quick cool down but are more of a nuisance than damage dealers.

For the limited tiem i played with it it was lots of fun and would have been more so if you could afford to promote your officers on Klingon side.

That last attack above Risa was fun, a Dev Borg Sphere and 3 cubes with lots of probes. 5 of us managed the last 20 mins and only got it down to 57%

My Han Solo moment on Starbase 1

The biggest problem last night was the lack of goals and objectives - but at least the frame work it there. Totally didnt expect open PvP (and I really enjoyed it!) and the borg were pretty cool - the cubes were huge!!!

The funniest moment has to be when Borg were warping into the system - and the Federation are STILL taking out the Klingons! So many people just didn't get it - I mean, give the Klingons a break! Oh well, Cryptic will get the blame - but this time it was just human nature (and retardedness - if there is such a word) that got in the way.

It was both fun and boring last night. I teamed up with rave/geralt/vader we rarely ended up in the same instance and because they were all full i couldnt get into theirs :(

The klingons seemed to go for starbase 24 and sol station. 1200 ships gathered over multiple instances. Some in sector space some in system. Basically the klingon ships would come into each system one at a time and get spawned camped ^_^
Hopefully cyptic will make spawn points random on release.

So for about an hour we were wondering around aimlessly, pvp was open so it wasnt too bad. I really hope that this stays on release, open pvp as without it space feels kind of empty.

Next i heard reports of ds9, andoria, and sol station ground based attacks. I didnt bother going in because i enjoy space more.

Anyway i got bored of spawn camping and started flying through sector space, minding my own business waiting for the real event to start a GIANT FREAKIN BORG CUBE warped in right behind me and sent me straight into a deepspace encounter before i could react... that was pretty fun :) Started shouting on irc and everyone went crazy !

Unfortunately the borg ships were +18 over my level 27 cruiser so as soon as i approached anything i pretty much died in a couple of shots... It was quite funny watching my shields fluctuate from 0 to 100% with reverse shield polarization on.

After about half an hour i got bored and headed to sol station after hearing reports of borg entering the area. Literally on spawn i was surround by hundereds of borg respawning over and over. Huge lag fest, again the borg pretty much 1/2 shot me. After the endless killing i got bored again and logged off due to the level difference :)

This was basically a giant stress test, and i did like it. I will be subbing for the first month to give it a proper go.

whens headstart beginning ?

Annoyed i'm going to loose all my progress!

This Friday 29th at 6pm. The time is a guess, but this is the time that Cryptic always switch on their server, so I can't see this being any different.

can u be borg or were they ai?

AI

I was also impressed how well the servers handled last night. No crashes, no lag and no drop in FPS (even on SB1).

i wonder what adjustments their going to make in the mean time?

I thought the americans were getting a head start about us?

We get the same head start - it is a global server. Then we have until 8th Feb to insert our retail key.

Update - It is official, on STO launcher it states that the Early start will commence on the 29th at 10AM PST (6pm UK time) :D
