Star Trek: Picard

Just glad Kurtzman seems to have very little to do with Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks. Those two shows are fantastic.
I didn't mind SNW but it seemed there were far too many "filler" episodes for such a short season. I guess this is what happens when you are spread thinly. Could not get past the first episode of LD. I found it really annoying.

It's show runner worked on Rick and Morty, so I guess if you aren't a fan of that Lower Decks might not be enjoyable, although it's been by far the best show for references to previous shows like TNG Voyager and DS9. There are some great epsidoes especially on e you get into season 2.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but Pulaski was much better, always makes me chuckle when she says "Why do I get the feeling this was not the time to join this ship" in Where Silence Has Lease.

"Unnatural Selection" is one of my favourite episodes of the entire TNG saga. I really warmed to her in that episode. It was a shame she was booted off so quickly, would have been interesting to see her for a few more seasons. But always glad to see Beverly back.

Kurtzman keeps mining the past, because he and his team are too creatively bankrupt to write new compelling characters and stories.

The showrunners are calling it a sequel to DS9 and Voyager now...

Surprised they haven't given Will Wheaton his his own show, Wesley is one of the the most hated characters so you know it's going to happen, they hate Star Trek fans.

Not related to Picard but how good is this edit with 3d models etc? Even has thrusters firing to turn the ship around.

Thats super. Lots of shows that could do with AI upscaling and their CGI redone. I hated in with Star Wars, but some of the old shows do look bad.

I've been rewatching the old shows with one the kids. TNG, Voyagers, DS9. Currently going though Enterprise and its surprisingly low quality it is at times. Really hurts it for a new audience.

TNG was the only one that's been redone in HD. Apparently it would cost them too much redoing DS9 and Voyager. The later seasons of Enterprise were originally broadcast in HD so still look ok.

One of the first movies I saw in the cinema...

Ha me too! It was the first film I saw at a large a proper cinema and not a school hall. I watched a bit of it recently, my word it was bad. Still about a million times better than Picard though.

I can see the enthusiasm for the upcoming series three is reaching fever pitch now. Some report says this is a return to Trek of old but I find that hard to believe. Kurtzman is supposed to have minimal input on this series. There is a review of it from Robert Meyer Burnett who made these claims as he is supposed to have seen it. There is a few weeks to go now.
