So started TNG TV show last night - Encounter at Farpoint, that was good!
It was also the episode where Riker met Data trying to whistle which i didn't remember. Picard had a stick up his ass, glad he mellowed!
It's not all that bad. I've been watching on my tablet and 4k TV and it's certainly not terrible.I shouldn’t be reading this as I’m so tempted to watch TNG, DS9 and VOY again. Not sure I can cope with the potato vision on the last two though.
I guess it's not too expensive when you consider tou get the 4k discs and blu-ray copies too. Here’s the expensive TNG movie 4K collection. Not sure if it will be available online only (description says there will be online copies as part of the set).
I'd rather not watch 46 minute's worth of basically padding. Loads of pointless events which added up to nothing much and the story not being progressed at all or in a very minor way. The space battles are pretty but do not interest me so much as good story telling and acting which this episode seemed to lack. Hopefully they will get better again and they were just trying to pad out the series a bit.So you'd rather we have ships on screen going "pew pew" for no reason? I found it interesting that the "benevolent and mighty" Federation didn't give the changelings the cure after all. It certainly puts the Federation in a different light and the experimentation coupled with no cure gives the changelings a valid reason for their actions rather than just being butthurt over losing.
Other than them being found, finding out the motive behind the changelings attacks, finding out the people they work for are separate and control them, Jack appears to have telepathy, data overcoming lore to save Geordi’s kid, Tuvok has been replaced, the ship gets taken over. Yah, aside that it was all padding. Hardly anything happened at all.I'd rather not watch 46 minute's worth of basically padding. Washouts post says it all, really.I'd rather not watch 46 minute's worth of basically padding. Yes you basically replicated @Washout post in a less amusing matter.Padding?
We got the full motivation for Vadic and the other changing motivation for what they are doing and finding out there is a higher power controlling them. Not to mention a lot more on what Jack is able to do, with telepathy and actual physical control of others.
Tuvok being taken over, so how high up do the changlings actually control Starfleet. We also got Data over coming Lore to help Geordie and also the ship getting taken over.
But yeah just 46 mins of padding and nothing actually progressed the story.
