Star Trek : Strange New Worlds

Ooooh that was a good episode, the explosion looked and sounded amazing.

A few nit picks ie familiarity the way the crew (uhura in particular) talk to the captain, but not overly bearing, just an observation.

And the meeting of the best captain and 1st officer :)

I like this, it feels like a nod back to TOS where it just wasn't as rigid as TNG. I don't think that would wash well with you get viewers these days, although a bit more conflict between options and making the right desperate call seems to be missing from SNW. People get to play hero all too easily.

It's a great show. Very good at throwing Canon things at you and references to all previous Trek shows.

I wouldn't say you have to watch it but some jokes etc might make more sense if you know the LD characters abit. If you like TNG post Nemesis Trek and enjoy a load of daft humour a bit like Rick and Morty etc then it's well worth watching.

Jonathan Frakes directed this episode of SNW and a few others.

That was awesome, very well done.

Why does Jack Quaid look like a young Elton John in this? I think it was the hair!

One question.......

Boimler and Mariner were talking to Pike and intimated that he didn't have many birthdays left - we know what happens to Pike (maybe!) but this could have been a huge reveal to Pike.

Just watched it.
Had the storyline pegged in the 1st 5 minutes.
Space hippy bit was funny.
Kirk n spock shaking hands is the start of their friendship etc.
Rest was just kinda OK.
Bit of a filler episode.
6/10

Pike already knows what happens to him. I think they covered it in a Discovery episode.

Yes, i know Pike knows what happens to him, which is why he said to Boimler he already knew. I was querying why Boimler felt it right to mention it, as he was told not to and was aware that he shouldn't, talk about future happenings - to tell someone their fate is obvs huge.
