Star Trek : Strange New Worlds

Finally got to watch this week's episode and it is probably one of the worst one's yet. The way that Spok was talking and behaving was ridiculous. He still should have known how to behave as a Vulcan. Vulcan emotions are supposed to be stronger than human one's yet he cannot cope with them and acts like a teenager. The whole thing was absurd and he is once more the butt of all the jokes.

Yes his mum managed to hide certain thing but she still comes across as human to a Vulcan. Spock would have needed a lot of time to learn to hid his emotions as he certainly wasn't used to having a fully 100% human body and mind.

Why would he need a lot of time to learn how to do something he's been doing his whole life?
With all due respect, you haven't really thought about this and neither have the writers. Sure, it was entertaining episode, but it makes no sense.

I'm enjoying the series, I still see it similar to the original series (no matter what others think !), story this episode wasn't exactly deep, Pike had a few very funny moments, and character interaction in general was pretty good.

When you suppress human emotions and then are flooded with them as a full 100% human I'd imagine they are overwhelming. Remember he had no Vulcan DNA at all.

Episode was fantastic.

It was a great episode.
Picking holes in star trek like this.. You'll find so many.
The universal translator stuff with other species for example.. Its best not to think about that stuff and ruin it.

This was a funny episode.

It makes perfect sense. If you don't spend all day thinking about it. He lost his Vulcan part of him. Just a human body experiencing things he hasn't before.

I really enjoyed this episode too, thought it was pretty funny and some good moments. I had a deja vu moment myself. I could have sworn i have seen this episode's story before? Was it used in other Star Trek shows in the past?

Charades - what a fun little episode! Ethan Peck was great and some good moments from Mount.

Some great moments and this made me laugh:

I do wish we'd see some proper battles and Pike moments though. Fun episodes are great every now and again, but it seems we're getting the crossover episode too which will no doubt be a bit silly.
