Star Trek

In my opinion Next Generation is head and shoulders above the rest, Voyager is worth watching and of course the original series... but the others? DS9 is slow and dull, Enterprise is just annoying - I wouldn't bother with them.

Certainly think it's better to watch TNG before DS9... if you must watch DS9.

ST Enterprise
Star Trek 11 (movie)
ST TOS
The Motion Picture
The Wrath of Khan
The Search for Spock
The Voyage Home
The Final Frontier
The Undiscovered Country
ST TNG
ST DS9
Generations (finish ST TNG before this)
First Contact
ST Voyager
Insurrection
Nemesis (finish ST Voyager before this)

I would have said Star Trek 11 should go after all of them on account of it starting off it's own continuity.

Well I would say watch them all, in order.

But, to say DS9 is slow and dull is bordering on heresy, and to suggest that Voyager, could in any way, shape or form be better than DS9 is ...well I hardly know what to say, it's an interesting but ludicrous notion. I gather you are actually mad :p

ds9 was abit pants before season 4 ... and the defiant only got put into the show as B5 had the whitestar .. in fact i find it abit ammusing when looking back how much ds9 copied B5 ... dont get me wrong i like ds9 just that B5 is soooo much better

and voyager only got good when seven of nine got into it....which as i recall was season 4 ....funny how trek series get better at season 4 .....as did enterprise, but i think they had decided to pull the plug on that one before season 4 even aired :(
 
Enterprise is fairly entertaining, but its annoying the way it trashes trek "lore", for example introducing the ferengi that early on (Picard was supposed to have been one of the first in starfleet to run into the ferengi), and adding borg was somewhat questionable too imho :P. I liked season 3 and 4, as it seemed the writers were more carefull not to mess around with TOS/TNG/DS9 history :)

It's the way she argues without raising her voice or becoming violent, which almost gives you the image of her being nice.

I always struggled with Kai Winn.. She annoyed me no end and I kept seeing her as that winey crybaby from the original Alien film!..

But I'd agree with:

as the time line!.. even though ST11 is a 'Reeboot' as someone said, it still 'sort of' needs to be watched that way!!.. :p

I guess you mean for the battle against the Klingon fleet in "Way Of The Warrior"? The in-universe explanation in the episode was that they'd been preparing the station for a Dominion invasion and had just finished refitting when the Klingon drama kicked off.

Yeah they said they had been preparing for a year but wasn't expecting all those lasers and 5k photon torpedoes lol. That's my fav episode/s so far :)

Way of the warrior was just that pinnacle moment when a show comes from just standard to amazing, it was like when Locutus/Picard took out the federation on TNG.

Ds9 still prooves my favorite trek it went to all different heights and beyond what any trek show did, if you wanted action and fun it was there from season 3-4+ but the build up was well worth it so watch it from start cos its only gonna be one hell of a ride later on !

I still hope theres another trek show, not sure if id enjoy one thats set in the new time line but it would be interesting and they wouldnt be limited to canon they could bring back old foes and newer aliens.
 
All these are excellent in there own ways :)

However now BSG has happened, all past scfi is just meh compared to it, good job it came after babylon 5, star trek, etc.

I would be seriously impressed if any scfi can match or (haha) better it, I seriously doubt it, for me it was essentially perfect.

OP check out battle star galactica fo sho.
 
BSG is for fake sci-fi fans. Star Trek is where the hardcore stuff is. It's not about running around in space shooting things in giant epic space battles, while fun to watch that's completely besides the point. Star Trek looks beyond this, and represents what you would do if you were in space. Do you want Humanity to be seen as the violent race, or as the guy that brings everybody together?
 
BSG was an amazing series, definatly not fake ! I dont think you could get anymore in depth and detailed and even after 5 years you still had no idea who was who or what it was really all about till that last episode, we just got hints and ideas of what it could be it was a masterpiece how they rounded it all up and still had us guessing till the end:)

I think scifi has been blessed with such shows such as babylon 5/BSG and all the treks its just such a shame there is nothing like that left on telly anymore :(
