**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

well it's exciting for the first week and then you realize it's a mindless game that does not encourage any kind of tactical or team play...

Thanks. I will continue to put my time into BF4 then. It's not perfect but it's still fun after a few years for me.

I can go from fuming at the game to really enjoying it in the space of a match. Sometimes I get slaughtered, sometimes I do well despite not playing any differently. I despise some of the weapons balance and game mechanics which seem designed to infuriate, not to be fun. Online is just anarchy, no real battlelines or strategy.

If I could play Supremacy and Walker Assault offline I'd be much happier. I've got my moneys worth but I do feel very let down by a game I was really looking forward too.

Yeah I feel similar about the game, one match I can top the board, next one almost no kills, it's hard to explain.

Definitely would prefer a Single Player mode, most of the online games are just disarray. I'm playing some of the single player "missions" and they're actually quite good. I'm enjoying the Survival ones, they can be challenging enough plus none of the usual online issues, hacking, cheating, griefing etc.

Indeed, played the final release for an hour then realised it was as broken as the beta.

Worst hooky £30 I've ever spent, even got more enjoyment from DayZ SA and thats saying something.

This defines 'regrettable purchase'

Glad I didn't get it, Same way as Hardline.

exciting for a week?! I was bored during a couple of hours of the beta. Told myself I was just bored of those two maps....then I bought the game, played for 30mins and told myself it sucks because no friends are on it. Couple of friends get it and it's still just completely meh.

Really hope they can improve it somehow :(

I did say that from the very beginning way back when the alpha started but nope people didn't want to hear it :p

I am surprised that it has died so quickly though tbh.... Even hardline and titanfall lasted longer than this.

it's not about people not wanting to hear it. it's about people having to experience things for themselves. i played beta and knew what i got myself into. the graphics and sound were breathtaking. the new maps and game modes were exciting when i discovered them. the gameplay was easy fun but it didn't held my attention for longer than a week, especially when open beta for R6 Siege came out and its full release shortly after.

Not impressed with Jakku at all gameplay wise, looks great but its a poorly designed map.
The best map in the game is Hoth [snowy map] by far.

I am surprised you brought it!

It'll never happen but I wish they'd take the one good part of this (the visuals/audio) and use them to make:

1. A new singleplayer focused game (Dark Forces 3?)
2. A new Rogue Squadron (they would also have to fix the vehicle controls)

I am surprised you brought it!

Only reason was cause most of the other regulars did :( :o

I was originally planning on returning it within the week but despite so many flaws, which will not be fixed/improved.... it is a fun game that you can just jump into and not take seriously at all, for £27, I can't complain too much tbh.

I was thinking about it, well no, since bf3/4 no more dice games for me. Looked in origin at the price and for the full star wars experience it was over 110 euros. I hope the games industry has a massive crash. God gaming has just become so meh.

Sadly this attitude doesn't help the greater cause. EA have their sale, you have been treated as a number for their executives even if you got a refund. However as EA have stated it is a game for 8 year olds and if that is captivating enough for the overall playerbase then fair enough but don't expect the franchise to get better or more skill based. It's the reason why I have not bought the game because it could have been so much better. Heck even if they said PC version will support mod tools that would have been enough for me to take a punt and hope that people like NoFate, Kiwidog and Hattiwatt1 made it better.
