**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

Hmmmmmmmm pondering via logging directly into origon via mexico VPN?

SAFE? will I get banned?

You'll probably not get banned but no guarantees. I did it via the VPN and it was pretty easy to do. ZenVPN trial worked fine. Just log into Mexican site, buy the game, then exit VPN and relog your origin client.

Job done.

Bought it, seems to work fine, was gonna go delux but dont know how much ill play it, £16.60 seems ok for a xmas hol blast :D

You'll get the normal full version of the game from Mexico. Bought BF3 DLC, BF4 & DLC and Star Wars Battlefront from various countries Origin's and never had an issue.

Pretty much par for the course.

Back in BFBC2 players would purposely wait to switch to the winning side. That in itself epitomises what's wrong with the nature of gaming today, sheer ignorance, laziness, and the unwillingness to take on a challenge.

Back in the days of Quakeworld if you got your ass handed to you by a better player you didn't rage-quit, cheat, or swap teams, you showed them a modicum of respect by telling them 'well played' and you set about improving your own skills and tactics for the next encounter.

That was the challenge and that's what kept players engaged with game. Now it's all geared to the lowest common denominator so casuals can play the game with least amount of time and effort necessary so they feel they've got their monies worth, which robs the game of any depth, skill, and longevity. The sad state of gaming today.

Very much the same when I used to play unreal tournament many years ago....

However, it's amazing to see the exponential growth of E-sports.

Is the Mexican version of this game different to the UK version? I.e. which version will be associated with my Origin account?

Just to reassure you I brought BF4 season pass from mexican origin and it still works fine to this day.

Brought Battlefront from there the other day and you just install it at English (US) as usual and away you go.

Honestly I bet EA/DICE are just happy we are buying it at any price because its got pretty bad reviews.

Just did it (thanks for all the feedback). Was a bit fiddly but was all pretty logical. So glad I paid £16.60 rather than nearly double the price.

I was debating getting at £17 everyone saying it's crap and not much replay ability factor... I'll leave it I think.

SO far Ive done the tutorials and for me its captured the essence of SW :) I like it so far but Ive yet to play the play the game multiplayer proper so cannot comment about that till then.

I quite like the look of Battlefront having being forced to watch my girlfriends lad playing it over Christmas on his XBox one :D
So, I've been and had a look at the PC version in Game this morning, I'm a bit put off as the requirements say a minimum of a GTX660 2Gb, thing is, I have two 1.5Gb GTX580's in SLI., I know SLI uses only one cards RAM so am below this requirement even though the performance of the 580's in SLI I suspect is more than enough.

The bods in Game said that if I can run Battlefield 4 this will run fine, I can indeed run BF4 just fine at mostly ultra settings (I turn textures down due to my limited V-RAM) and Hardline, GTA V etc etc at 5760x1080 as I've got my rig spanned over three 24" monitors in Nvidia surround.

Will the PC version run ok for me? I suspect it'll be just fine with a little tweaking but am reluctant to buy it (certainly not at Games £49.99 price though!) to find it stutters etc due to my paltry 1.5Gb.

Can somebody confirm one way or the other please?

My spec is i7 870 @3.8Ghz, 8Gb DDR 3, two 1.5Gb GTX580's.

Cheers. :)

If you can run Battlefield 4 over 5760 x 1080 I'd be very surprised if you can't run Star Wars Battlefront. From what I've read Star Wars scales well on PC hardware so you should be fine. Origin has a refund policy on games bought direct from them, so you could buy it and try it.

I can't remember a game running so well on Ultra on a wide range of hardware to be honest and it looks fantastic

Yeah I was a little stunned when I whacked everything on ultra at 2560x1440 and my 780 was still (just about) putting up playable framerates - though having a G-Sync screen helped a bit - sometimes the mins would be bordering on unplayable without G-Sync.

the EA starwars twitter has so far said

no space battles
no clone wars
no force awakens

they have 4 dlc packs to release and have also said more free maps will be added - thats like 16 + maps with only dagobah and bespin left (i guess sullest is outside of that already)

4 heros - who are 2 bad guys gonna be ? play as jabba or Admiral Ozzel :p

seems some very limiting and strange choices being made about this game
