I must emit and I've not played this only watched a good few rounds now on twitch but I hate this “ We have to get the player into action very fast” It’s retarded when spawns are so close your virtually spawning next to each other over and over. Give the players the room to enjoy the game I say. One of the guys I was watching a Rebel was up a hill on Hoth shooting fresh spawns, he was right above the main spawn point. He actually got sick of killing so easy and moved away. All this “You need to fire at the enemy within 30 seconds” is garbage. I loved BF1942 huge maps that sometimes took five six minutes to find an enemy and it was better for it. You valued your life more and a death meant more tactically as the player was out the fight for so long. It built suspense, it built team play and at times just gun driving and flying across the map and entering the fight knowing you had evaded death on your travels.

If Hoth was three or four times as big as it is currently it would be fantastic. Player today demanding instant combat are killing games.

When playing the beta on my laptop no matter if all low or all ultra I am getting random micro pausing/freezing/hitching like it's loading a new area of the map or something?! Laptop is 970m and 16gb ram yet my 7970 and 8gb ram PC plays it fine.

Any fixes or things to try?

I get rare cases of mouse lag in the menus and in game spawn screen, it just takes ages to respond. (A good 1-2 seconds). Also in game it is a bit wallowy and pressing C to turn on third person view isn't instant. Takes a good few presses to get it to show, which brings me on to my other point which is when you die it reverts back to first person view when you respawn.

The game is growing on me somewhat. At first I could not get into it as I was hoping for a Star Wars Battlefield and didnt like the 'powerups' but after a couple hours play today Ive started to enjoy it a bit more. Okay, it does get a bit samey but once you learn the map and realise the AT-AT's can actually be destroyed, Hoth does not seem so Imperial bias.

I still dont like the Hero's powerup, its not necessary and ruins it when you see Luke or Darth bouncing around the map.

I just hope the other maps/modes gives a bit more variety.

A good troll technique which is very op. I managed to flank the rebels in Walker Assault and as they were defending an uplink I snook from behind activated my shield and meled them all and then deactivated the uplink. :p

It's a one mele kill and I'm not sure if it is the same from the front. It was funny as their weapons do zero damage so they could do nothing. I'm not sure if a Hero can combat it or if they can mele me whilst a shield is on. Would work great in drop zone also.
 
If you want to troll hard on dropzone you can buy loads of personal shields for 500 credits for 10 > activate it > run at enemies and melee the **** out of people. The saltyness was almost worth playing the "beta" yesterday.


edit... Also, as rebels on Hoth my friends and I could win every time due to the snowspeeder TOW mechanic, kinda silly really. Also managed 72-3 yesterday just in the DF-9 as Empire. Get behind the Rebels spawns > camp DF-9 = profit.

Console players seem to be enjoying it more, so either it's another PC fail or PC players just complaining as usual.

Personally I'm enjoying it as well.

If the other modes are any good it could turn out to be a decent game.
 
Terrible game. Call of duty : star wars edition Hold trigger and strafe around while trying to shoot people flying all over the screen.

Search you tube for "worth a buy starwars battlefront" cant link it due to swaring but that guy is a great honest reviewer.
