**Star Wars Outlaws Open World Star Wars game from Massive Entertainment**

Extremely limited and linear, annoying boss rush with good (but not excellent) graphics. I was reminded of how limited gaming was back in the early noughties, invisible barriers to restrict movement and limited boring repetitive gameplay.

Just at no stage did I give a crap about the story, the character, or progressing to the next boss fight.

Best thing posted on this forum in ages. I wondered who she reminded me of. Its the looker that is, a peak 1990's Peter "Im a Racist" Beardsley.

28 hours into this game and I'm having a blast. Once I turned down the graphics settings to medium I stopped having issues and apart from the occasional glitch and one BSOD, I've barely stopped playing. It's really nice to play a SW games that isn't all about light sabres - I have KOTOR for that. :)

I might give it another go and level up some before giving up. I watched a hints video and saw some other methods and game mechanics that can help with the progressions.

Yeah I get a sense that there's parts I would enjoy on it. It's just can I get through the bits I don't long enough to see them.

@mrk Nice review, perhaps focuses a little to heavily on the GFX/performance and not enough on the game, but a good read all the same. Despite all its flaws I will still pick this game up at some point when the price drops, because “Star Wars”.

Cheers some didn't like my score but I think knocking off 1-2 points to give it what it got (4) is perfectly fair given the technical issues that are game breaking and the jankhy mechanics that are evident.

But if the performance is impacting enjoyment of a game then it's very valid part of the game?

I agree, but the review is heavy on the technical aspects of the game and doesn’t provide much detail on the game itself, the story or the game play elements that make up the game. But ultimately it’s mrk’s review and he should write it as he see’s fit.

All of this has piqued my intetest.

Being so handsome in real life, I never considered what it would be like playing as a less fortunate character.

I think I’m actually going to play this now.

Only put a couple of hours into the game so far but I can’t say the unattractive lead character has made much difference to me.

She looks a bit 70’s which I guess matches the OG SW theme anyway.

Graphically the game looks pretty good, IMO. Running on a 4090 I’ve got everything on except FG as I’m only aiming for 60Hz in this anyway and it’s been very smooth so far.

Wouldn’t have paid the RRP though, picked it up from CDKeys for £40 instead.

Not dabbled with the secret graphics settings, I’ll save that in case I ever replay it further down the line.

Started playing and find it looks visually very impressive.

Every little detail and particle effect is astonishing, and it feels like its perhaps the first complete next-gen game.

The environment and general locality also appears to be very much alive.

Performance is also generally very good on an RTX 3070.

Getting nearly 100 FPS at 4K/High with DLSS at performance. Not using Frame Generation or the Nvidia specific ray tracing settings.

Dropping settings down to 1080p lowest pushes FPS to 150+.

Damnit, I’m a sucker for CGI, keep seeing adverts for this with fantastic fights/battle sequences and want to get the game. How does the story hold up in this, the adverts make it look like it has a pretty decent story, does it?

Based on very early impressions it seems good.

I’m seeing AC Odyssey hints in a lot of things. This ties in nicely with the general story.

Looking forward to playing the rest of this now.
