Western devs seem to be frightened of beautiful feminine women, It's like they do all the motion capture performance and then hit the "make her look like her parents are related and she eats paint chips" button in the editor.
Eastern devs don't seem to have this issue though, Their mocap actresses are as beautiful in the game as they are outside of it.

The reason it was pointed out for this game is that Humberly González did the voice and mocap work for the main character but they made her ingame facial model look like it was hit with Darth Vaders frying pan... repeatedly.
Maybe they want her to look like she ran face first into a speeder bike 1 too many times.

Hate to break this to you, but most video game characters look nothing like their mocap actors. One of the joys of the medium is that artists can shape things the way they want. They aren't trying to make Humberly Gonzales in a video game, they are trying to make Kay Vess.

Absolutely agreed. It takes a special kind of mentality to get upset that a female character in a video game is not feminine enough. Or that the use of pronouns is an affront to your civil liberties to hate on “wokeism”. Don’t want to use the pronouns, then don’t use them.
MoCap is used to capture motion, not likenesses. I mean the clue is in the name. Maybe, just maybe the devs actually wanted the main character to look more like a person who has had a tough life living in the dregs of the Star Wars universe. Not like a supermodel on the front page of some fashion magazine you can think “there’s one for the **** bank”.

This is to do with western devs having a tendency of making female characters look like they've been hit with a freight train but as Grim5 pointed out not doing the same for male characters.
