Considering we have weapons like Shadow Storm etc that can be fired from quite a distance with some precision I think it's wishful thinking on his part tbh.

Storm Shadow mate;) :)

But, if Baghdad has such a SAM system around it, it will be much harder to do these things than we think.

Thinking about the Jordan post.

I dont see how the US could move that many troops to Eastern Jordan without Arab TV showing it. They'd have to land them in SW Jordan and ship them across the hole country. Or the Saudis let the US ship a division across the country again without anyone noticing.

Neither I think are likely.

You'd think so - if they are facing AA guns or heavy artillary, but our tanks should be able to handle it...?

Unless they are needed further north

Yeah, we could handle it, but we trying to avoid urban warfare.

All IMO though :)

Like yesterday, the Royal Marines called in an A10 to fly above where they were involved in heavy fighting, not to bomb the enemy, just fly overhead and spit a bit of fire to soften and scare the enemy.

I do however think Basra has been slightly underestimated (perhaps Iraq has something to hide there).

I do however think that Baghdad will come as a BIG suprise to a lot of us. I expect very very strong resistance, not just from ground troops, but all sorts of weapons too.

They have E-bombs to take out comms and power stations. The Iraquis are fighting a dirty war hiding amongs the civilians and hospitals. That way Saddam can spout his propaganda and say how well his army is doing, when in reality they know we won't attack the civvies.

Wonder what the soap dodgers will say next to try and justify this find.
This was posted yesterday, the missiles are not proscribed weapons. It was just a supply of normal weapons. Some of the British made supplies is dated back to 1980. But the company involved recently denied trading with Iraq made by Kurds

I'm not going to beleive either sides, as i dont trust what companies say and i dont trust what Iraq says, but

Wallop Industries Limited have stated that they have never supplied Iraq with these explosives, and has does make mass explosive components.

They state they did however provide Kuwait with some kind of smoke devices last year.

It is also known that during the last gulf war in 1991, boxes marked marked "Wallop Industries Limited" were found in Iraq, and these boxed were known and confirmed to have being sold to Kuwait, and delivered to Kuwait.

How exactly does the treatment of US POWs differ from our treatment of iraqi POWs in respoect to the Geneva Conventions? Especially that every British newspaper bar three (?) this very morning are continuing to print the photos of POWs.
The British media are showing pictures as part of the extensive coverage this war is receiving.

The Iraqi government are showing pictures on their own television stations as part of their own agenda.

That is the difference.
