The US military plans to double its troop strength in Iraq to about 200,000 in the next month, officials have said._
There are currently about 125,000 Coalition soldiers and Marines fighting in the conflict in Iraq, with 25,000 of them from Britain.
US officials said that plans would see up to 100,000 more US soldiers and marines brought over to Iraq by the end of April, bringing the total fighting force to around 225,000.
