Steam hacked ?

whenever you click a link in steam chat it says don't enter your details ;p

I know, thats what i meant. Steam has warnings and people ignore it. Those people would either ignore warnings from additional 'trust' programs or wouldn't get them in the first place. Some people are just too stupid/greedy to be helped.

ahi thought you meant the writing att he top of the chat box. :p

It also has a pop up saying "don't enter your steam details into this site" >.>

There's a story somewhere of this scammer attempting to steal an account but ended up having his account stolen by the guy he was attempting to steal from.

Well i meant both. You can't help some people.

I've seen it before, hilarious but in all likelyhood, made up. No way would a real scammer be that stupid.

dont use nod32 it lets through malware and my account got hacked for 24 hrs,i dont accept links and im aware of phising, bitdefender picked up a lot of stuff that nod32 failed to pick up.there was somebody on this forum in the antivirus thread that did a test with nod32 and certain types of malware that it let through, not to mention the intrusion prevention is crap on it,i dont even think its firewall works and it definitely does not hide all ports as i tested this myself and it failed..nod 32 overrated...use it at your peril!

I wasn't sure what you meant. I thought you meant Steam monitors the sites you visit and alerts you to anything suspicious looking.

I'll get me coat.

Makes on wonder just wtf you where dling to get the keylogger for steam then ;)

Usually the game/steam specific ones are in UI replacements (Wow) or hacks ;)

Perhaps it was whatever he downloaded to give him the worlds only PC capable of anti aliasing via drivers in GTAIV :p

Well I have been using steam since almost day one. Never had a problem. I rarely have any resident AV at all, it just gets in the way.

I do run malwarebytes every so often (no threats for quite a while) and it seems to me that you only need AV if you are a pirate, a prolific midgit porn junkie, a compulsive link clicker, like buying low cost electrical products from Chinese websites or downloading l33t h4x to ruin other peoples games ;)

in seriousness people need to take more responsibility for their online assets. OMG xxx HAS BEEN HAXED!!!1! usually translates to "I put my password into a phishing site"

just my 2p. No trolling intended
