Makes on wonder just wtf you where dling to get the keylogger for steam then ;)

Usually the game/steam specific ones are in UI replacements (Wow) or hacks ;)

i was constantly getting portscanned and it was crashing my pc,i was getting portscanned once every 30 mins,so i presume it was a portscanning bot, shortly after i bought a wireless router which stopped it,but nod 32 was supposed to block this, its stopped some of the portscanning but sometimes it did not,at the end of the day tefal you can speculate all you like as your not a mind reader and you was not sitting at my pc when this was happening so you dont know jack about my situation,at the end of the day nod32 sucks ***** as i have experienced this first hand,i also had a folder setup on second hardrive as zzzzzzzz, when i looked into this it had some files i had not seen before and was setup as a USA keyboard, basically i was hacked by somebody and they were logging into my pc when i ws online,i could not even delete these files, shred them with retail software or delete in safe mode, all this happened when i switched from bitdefender to nod32,i thought i woulkd try nod 32 as bitdefender was not working with windows 7 at the time and many people recommended nod32,as soon as i lost my steam account i changed to norton and then shortly back to bitdefender as it was working for win 7 then,at the end of the day im no noob and i been in this game for longer than most, 28 years,i was playing games when the first types of malware were made on the amiga(1987 byte bandit, lamer exterminator 1 and 2 etc, they wre made by cracking groups)by switching to nod32 i got hacked, some people do,some dont, first and last time for me,i am paranoid about my security and i dont think even the fbi could get into my pc now as i have researched pc security and i beleive to have a very good combination of security software,it will NEVER happen again,i am priveliged to be in the position to try all the availble antivirus/security suites on the market for free and i have tried most of them..norton,bitdefender,avira,avast,kaspersky,zonealarm,bullguard etc,i found bitdefedner had the best anti detection rates,i tested all these and more over about 1 month

I have actually downloaded 3 pieces of malware on a testing laptop with nod32 installed,nod32 did not detect any of it and somebody on this forum did the same in the anti virus thread and there results concluded the same as myself...so you can take your porn and keylogger theories, hacks etc and shove them were the sun dont shine;)
I know im a bit harsh in how i say things but its straight to the point and what i have experienced so i feel its time to cut the BS and get straight down to it :)
Beware of nod32 people,im just simply letting you know what happened to me as my steam account was hacked once also.;)

Firstly, nod32 is an anti-virus, so I don't know why you would expect it to do something about you being portscanned. You'd need a firewall for that.

Also, you saying NOD32 let through three pieces of malware doesn't mean much without a comparison with other AV programs as well. They may let them through as well, meaning they are all just as bad as each other. I'm pretty sure I could google around, find a piece of malware a different AV misses, post to say that it misses it and thus it is the worst AV program ever.
But I have far better things to be doing with my time :)

i was using eset smart security, same thing as nod32 antivirus with a firewall..duh

Sorry, my psychic are a little lacking, especially given you don't mention smart security in that post, or indeed the word firewall. You just named the AntiVirus program, which is available alone, and complained that it didn't do the job of a firewall.

so is this 'person downloads hacks for games, account details get stolen by keylogger downloaded with the hacks, person acts suprised and says he's been "hacked" ' ?

i used to work for blizzard as a GM amongst other things, and i can safely say that its very unlikely that anyone gets 'hacked'. hacking someone's pc/blizzard's servers is far too targetted and specific to bother with. its far easier to just let people download a keylogger somehow and wait for the details to be sent to you

Get the thread back on track guys

I think the fact that thevet more than likley got his account details stolen through using hacks rather than someone personally 1on1 hacking his computer is very relevant to the thread

Because otherwise people are going to get the wrong idea.

And get even more thread saying omg someone has hacked my pc.

Use the corect terminology. Your account wasn't hacked, that would imply that the Steam user database was compromised.

Your account was stolen - most likely either through a website that requested your login details, or through a keylogger.

So, some people have figured out how to get into Valve's servers, retrieve users' account data and passwords, persumably including any credit card details linked to that account...
And after all that, they just change your password? Nobody elses? They could have picked a press account with all the games unlocked, or simply one of someone who has bought tons of games, but they chose yours specifically?

I doubt it.

You must go to pretty stupid websites if your computer is immediately beset by malware as soon as you switch AVs'. You don't get keyloggers and trojan's through normal browsing.
