Steam IS coming to OS X

Nah me either, they must have seen straight through my extensive hardware collection (lie) and over zealous statements about how much I game each week.

I think my Steam rating says it all. "0.4 hours playing L4D2 this week".
 
The thing is, I don't own a PC any more so how could I get the playing hours up?

When I had a gaming rig I spent way too many hours playing. Doesn't that count for something?
 
Same here too.

I played on Steam before it was Steam, and then before it even started logging usage. Not so much now/recently.

I'd guess I've clocked up 1000s of hours playing CS in it's varies guises.
 
Looks like you will be able to peggle soon.

What happens when the latest and greatest FPS comes out and your 9400GT or whatever cannot run it, seems expensive to have to sell the whole system to buy a new one just for a game.

I suppose serious gamers will be on PC, still I suppose better than nothing.

Agreed. As much as I want a Macbook pro, im sticking with my rig as its way more flexible. When I go back to study however then ill pick up a macbook pro for carrying around with me. Steam on mac just seems like a waste

The dedicated graphics chips in the new macbook pro's are more than capable at pulling their weight, as long as you're not expecting to run everything maxed out.

not on a imac or mac pro even on the top end MBPs they all have the right sort of cpu and gpu thats prefect for steam games, playing l4d through bootcamp at max res and settings on my imac is amazing
 
Yes. It's being converted for OS X and to run using OpenGL.

I can't imagine it would then be too hard for them to then shift that over to linux.
 
nope. steveo i may email them in the week im unsure when beta should have started but

im a prime candidate for this, no offence to you or others. i have both end of the scale of the Macs Lineup

& unfortunately Vavle doesn't know this yet, but i'm a certified software tester by trade

so i may email them and see what they say.
