Steam Is Now Offering Refunds

So has anyone got a refund on DayZ SA?

i got offered on from a fanboy on here so I would stop pointing out how broken it was but he was all mouth.

I've tried... twice (but I did purchase last year/10hrs played) :p

I've seen a few rare cases where you can go over the set refund limits if you word the refund request right (e.g. the game worked when I bought it but not anymore, I've spent most of my playtime trying to fix the game, etc.), but it didn't go down so well for me unfortunately.

Surprisingly DayZ SA is the most expensive game I've bought through Steam @ £17. Games above that price I managed to grab for cheap through key resellers or even on physical disk.

I have now tried to get a refund through their support ticket system, as I've heard that can work too, but in rare cases (luckily enough if you live in the UK, you stand a higher chance since you can bring up Sales of Goods act, etc.).

I just really wanna get rid of it from my account :p The development seems to be going nowhere by this point and I'm not even interested in the concept anymore.

Ummm...open the steam client, click help, support, "a purchase", select the game, two more clicks and you do the refund request, it's dead simple.

Yes, thanks but you misunderstand. The refund was agreed very easily, however they have failed to give me the funds. Hence faffing.

My bad, you mentioned support website and different logins, neither of which have been an issue for the refunds i've had to date.

Check the funds aren't pending on your wallet balance, i've had refunds come through from pending in 2 days, some take as long as 7 days.

I just got a refund for New Vegas that I bought in the sale recently. The refund got approved in around 15 minutes.

I've now tried for a refund for South Park. I bought it in November 2014.

This refund policy could restore some faith in the industry. I think it will be the main reason why WB suspended sales of Arkham Knight.

If only it was available when I bought Evil Within. What a shambles of a release that was... I still haven't played that title and I bought it on day one.

Hope this causes more devs to be a little more reluctant to release games before they are actually finished, for far too long PC games developers have been happy to release buggy games with the intention of patching later knowing that gamers had little recourse for getting their money back.

Yes you will most of the time, i've had refunds on games from as far back as December last year.

Damn, now I'm upset :(

We will not be granting a refund at this time. Either the date of the purchase exceeds 2 weeks or playtime exceeds 2 hours (the refund policy maximums).

How to Survive - Storm Warning Edition
How to Survive - Playtime: 3 minutes

The only thing the older refunds had in common was less than 2 hours playtime and all bought in sales, maybe that's a factor as the refund would be less.

Just to show i'm not full of BS: :D Sins and Dark Souls 2 refunds

Would have chased refunds on Saints Row had I not played just over 3 hours of it.

Meh, had a play of Endless Legend the other day but didn't exactly have a lot of fun with it, so tried for a refund. I was at 3.9 hours of gameplay and it was rejected. Bit annoying really as you can't get a feel for that sort of game until after the initial learning curve.

Well 11 days now after refund agreed by Steam and funds still have not reached my card. Steam support is just adding insult to injury with copy and paste type responses to my support ticket. All this over a fiver.

The refund policy I very warmly welcomed. However if this is the level of service I get when using it, then it hardly endears me to using steam in a try before you buy type manner.

Disappointed.

How long until the refund got to your steam wallet, assuming it did? A card refund is a completely different step, funds always go to wallet first.

Its not going to my steam wallet, its being refunded to my card of which its purchased on. At least that's what was stated on the refund confirmation email.

And no its not in my steam wallet. Nor should it be.

Haven't had a refund go to card and they were all bought on card. They've gone to wallet first and you can then request to card. However I re-spend the money before I get chance, lol.

Hope you get it sorted, a big headache for a fiver like you say.
