Steam Link and Steam Controller now available to Pre Order

Ouch lol, a shame for such a small piece of kit isnt it?

Any idea how quick the shipping is?
Slow, so very very slow :(

My journey so far:
August 29th - Order placed
October 6th - Received Email asking me to confirm my delivery address
October 26th - Order status changed to "Processing"
October 27th - Order status changed to "Shipping"
November 7th - Received Email confirming order dispatched and got a tracking number with "GLS".
November 9th - Tracking still shows the controller in Holland. Hasn't moved.

Definitely Valve time in use here!

It only releases tomorrow. Your delivery will probably be tomorrow as well. My pre-release order was exactly the same. When my pre-order was shipped, it was at the same depot as yours in Holland for ages and then the night before release (16th Oct) it shipped to the UK, and the UK courier delivered it the next day. It was at my desk at 11:22 on the 16th October. Valve time has nothing to do with it. The courier in Holland are holding the orders until the evening before the release date and it will ship to the UK tonight.

I'm thinking of buying a decent wireless keyboard and mouse and connecting them to the PC upstairs... basically my sofa is directly below the room where my PC sits so I think it'll work absolutely fine as long as it's 2.4GHz wireless and not Bluetooth? I can plug a wired Xbox360 controller into the Steam Link box for gaming and general control as well?

Would this work? I'm really tempted to order one now.

Any news on 5.1 support in future?

Mine is now showing this on the Parcel Force site - 9/11/2015 18:29 National Hub Received and processed.

Guess it will be here tomorrow.

My controller is now in UK. I bet it arrives on Wednesday and I'm off on holidays on Thursday. Will have to wait till I come back to play with it.

Going to meander over to Gamestop (there are around 4/5 near me) and hopefully pick a controller up. Considering a steam link, but I would only likely use it for the garage, and I could probably just use an old PC instead. I do imagine the steam link will be much less hassle that a PC though.

I would DEFINITELY need to run a cable from the garage to the house to make it viable however, and all in I estimate around 50 meters needed. Any cable would need to handle extremes of temperature , freezing, flooding and extremes of heat in summer.

has Steam sorted out the connectivity issues with the 360 wireless controllers? I've seen on the steam forums that people have are experiencing problems with it and that the steam link doesn't even register the controller at all.

Really?

I used a fake 360 USB dongle fine with my pad for a few sessions. Then I bought a second pad and used that fine too. But now suddenly neither of them will connect at all?

Wired 360 pad will work 100%. Why not connect the keyboard to the link itself?

I'm thinking less input latency with KB+M or controller connected directly to the host PC rather than via uplink.

If they confirm they'll support 5.1 soon then I'll order.

Global logistics systems. There should be a parcel force tracking number a little further up on that page... Track using that on the parcel force site.

Hopefully mine should arrive today (controller only, already have a HTPC with the TV), would love to know more but GAMEs crappy site won't let me track my order for some reason.

also ordered that from Game as well, as you say crappy site :) just waiting shanks's pony aka the postman for that one lol

Excuse my ignorance on this device,do you need to have your pc running to stream to your tv ?

I like the idea as long as i can play on my tv without having the pc on (they are both in the living room)
