Steam Summer Sale 2017 - 22nd June

no amount of servers would help them. you got Almost all Steam Users hitting the same Page at the Same Time. They could spend 300 MIllion on servers & it be better wouldnt be perfect. then you got all that hardware wasted till next year...LOt of $$$ wasted

Google, Amazon and other sites don't have problems handing server load and since Steam is broken into regions, it makes the job of getting the server load balancing easier since you can dedicate server farms for each region.

It's not like Steam can't afford to do it, back in 2012, the company was reported to be worth $2.5/3 billion and Gabe himself is worth twice that and likely more now it's 2017.

I think the reason they haven't really upgraded the server infrastructure is because the problems don't last long, can be a few seconds to minutes.

If you successfully added the discount to your PayPal account, it will give you £5 off your next purchase of over £20 on Steam, when you choose to pay with PayPal. Basically, when you get to the PayPal confirmation page, it should show a £5 discount.

Damn thing wouldn't work for me. :(

Wanted Friday the 13th game, but it's not on sale. That sucks. I wasn't expecting a big discount or anything, but if it was around £15-20, than I would send it to my cart.

When you checkout with Paypal, instead of the charge showing £30, it should show a -£5 discount and make it £25. That's how it worked when I added money to my steam wallet anyway.
Mine debits straight from bank account... Is that a mistake I've made? Did I need a +ve balance on the Paypal account?

Google is massive compared to Steam & it passing Text Data for the majority of the time.
Amazon Is Region Based.

Your also forgetting About 5 minutes after sales you may have X MIllion people Downloading a 50GB game Each at from anywhere from 8-100Mbps. Much more bandwidth Much More tha Amazon for just streaming Video

its just not viable for the amount it would cost & yes i am in server Data Industry

Steam is worth $2.5/3 Billion, I think they could afford to upgrade their servers. Steam is region based too.

The download servers are separate from what handles the store page, users downloading games and software won't affect the store.

Considering SOM GOTY edition and ABZU atm, though I'm not that big of a fan of the Batman style of combat.

A few others have caught my attention like Aragami & System Shock Enhanced - even though I said I would wait until the remake was out. However, for little over a quid, I may check it out. I think I'll check out some footage first, though.
