Steve vs Linus, round 2

I completely forgot about Anthony, he took a while to become more confident on camera but was always pleasant to watch. I had no idea what happened with him but it seems his coming out/transitioning/dunno the lingo actually came with an outpouring of support which is fantastic.

Imagine being in a closet all your life, the mental strain that must have. Crazy.

Steve from GN is possibly one of the most boring "presenters" I have ever listened to.
I cannot watch his videos, I will echo others thoughts in this thread, he is just drama farming, not interested (although clearly I am as I have posted in this thread :p)

I don't have any major problems with linus to be fair, i don't watch a ton of his content but when i do its ok. it has a good balance of tech information and entertainment.

So just like 500 other creators since it came out at the same time. So yes he is just being petty about LTT again....

I like some of the in depth reviews, I typically look up his videos when looking at a particular product, last thing was an AIO.
 
Same as last time, for me this feels like what it must feel like for a kid who's parents are arguing over getting divorced and it is not amicable. You don't *want* to have to choose. The last time I sided with Linus and shut GN out for a while, the same will probably happen this time, though I haven't even bothered to look into what the fuss is about this time, and I barley looked into it last time either. If it comes down to it I prefer the more entertaining style of LTT to the more rigid GN style.

How many of these other ‘creators’ are the head of a billion dollar company?

His videos now exist solely to sell merchandise.
 
Gamers Nexus have invested a lot of money in their testing equipment, so I tend to trust what they say. It's the reason I bought an Antec Flux Pro case for example and an artic liquid cooler III

But the videos are boring as ****, I tend to skip to the conclusion.

Ironically as well, Steve often doesn't do the testing himself, a lot of the time he's reading someone else's analysis/conclusion and presenting it.

Maybe they should get somebody in to dress it up a bit more.

Then again, there's people out there who will listen to Buildzoid waffle for an hour about memory overclocking to get an extra 0.3 fps on a game.

There will always be someone who wants to listen, it just depends how many you want to listen. Buildzoid doesn't get many viewers at all because he is so niche - I only watch one buildzoid video every 3 years, as it tells me how to overclock my new ram and then after I ignore him for another 3 years

Both their subreddits have been cesspools over the weekend due to this 'drama' it's like seeing football fans when someone says something against 'their' team.
 
Louis Rossmann that previously collaborated with Linus and featured in his videos? That Louis Rossmann? They're all as bad as each other these influencers/youtubers. It does nothing but divide and disrupt the community when things like this happen. Nothing good comes of it for us. They all make yet even more money through being drama queens, back stabbers and biatches.
