Still think circumcision is wrong?

Yes, but it is where the risk of infection comes from. THe research may well be valid, but the risk of infection in some countries is less than others, so circumcision can be overkill.

Whether you buy it or not. HIV is on the increase in the UK - thanks to influx of people and carefree attitude of the young generation. So is stds on the rise too. Perhaps it is time we look into this and not just dimiss it.

Trials of several drugs and experiment are done in this country....do we have to dimiss them on the basis of location? NO! It is as valid as one done in america or switzerland!!

So what about people who wants to do it to their kids? I htink it is within their right to do so.
The point is, they were done in Africa because Africa has a big AIDs problem, we here in the UK don't.

As stated in the article:

"...recommendations largely apply to countries where rates of heterosexual transmission is high."

And it still doesn't dismiss the negative side of getting your foreskin chopped off.

And 'candy' is the same as body parts?

Why are people quick to rolleyes.....it is so weak! My point i made is that some decision are made for kids throughout a certain stage and i belive circumcision is one of those decision the adult have to make on their behalf. Please debate without emotions consuming you.....

but where are they all getting HIV from in the first place..surely sex with a single partner woudl stop the spread of this better then lopping the end of your old man?

Circumcision may, in some isolated cases, reduce the trasmission of some STDs.

Can you see all those caveats there? They're important.

One does not deal a rolleyes with emotion, it is only received as such.

Do you plan for your kids to go around having loads of sex before they're 16?

So are you saying there isnt a rise in number of HIV and STDs in the UK? Are you saying we dont have a high transmisssion rates between homos and heteros?

If it was done for many advantages...why cant you look at that and see the bigger picture? Or are you saying, let us not take the forskin off and let them have a higher potential of catching HIV? Knowing fully well that condom is not popular over there in some instances...

The rolleyes wasn't out of emotion, purely awe at your stupidity.

Why not remove the entire penis at birth and insist all reproduction is done via in vitro methods?

people are stupid then..I would rather wear a condom than let a man near my bobbys helmet with a scalpel

I have said what I have to say and yet you feel the need to reply with ridiculous analogies rather than an actual argument.

Yes, it is wrong to cut off pieces of children. Regardless of the effects they should be allowed to decide themselves. It isn't like a baby will be at risk from HIV... well not in any way that circumcision would prevent.

And i replied by saying that allowing kids to make decision for such things later in life is not exactly an option from certain parent's perspective. As they time it would be done, (circumcision) the kid cant exactly make the decision other than the parent. Also, i know people who have got it done at a later stage in life (one was 24) and from what i see, i would have preffered he had it done as a kid and he even agreed.
