i agree... when competitors make the same mistake, they just refund everyone and blame it on pricing errors..... thanks to gibbo doing his best some of us got upgraded cards which ocuk didnt have to. i think the reason behind only allowing people that ordered one is to stop that 'might' have ordered 2 or more to ebay to make money at the expense of ocuk.

Why not just tell the person you can only have one or offer them one instead? Provided they ordered early enough ofcourse. I would have gladly taken one had I known the situation.

I'd have just like to have been kept informed today - in the end I had to contact them to find out the status of my order instead of them emailing me saying "Sorry, there was an error and we're unable to complete this order therefore you're being refunded". It's all well and good upgrading some people, but other customers would like to be kept up to date with the situation of their own order.

I imagine lessons can be learned from this whole incident.

im not sure, but i think that was decided after the problems of stock error was picked up.

i very much doubt you would feel the same if your order(s) went through.
I would be happier, but I would be of the same opinion about the whole situation.
What has happened bridges on immoral, and I'm not blaming Gibbo, I'm blaming a stupid archaic system of taking orders and allocating stock - a lack of remote access to the server is a seriously stupid position to be in...

Dont forget people who ordered thinking they got a bargain (like me) then decided to add other smaller items on top, have realised now that the main items are not comin, but everything else is. Thats unacceptable really, especially if I have to pay out of my pocket to return the other items. I have contacted ocuk about this, and hopefully it wont be the case.

It's all very well saying that Med, but you happened to be the lucky bloke who got an XTX for £93 :D

an XTX?? I wish!!! was a G TX ;)

If I hadn't recieved one I wouldn't be posting complaints on here, sure I'd be annoyed that I have to wait a week to get the money back but at the end of the day I would recieve it back :)

a competitor mispriced their s939 3800+ at £100 I picked one them, for less than the cost of a 3000+... Many people bought them, and everybody got their order in full - so don't go saying that competitors don't do similar. It is also worth noting that many of the competing companies use timed stock allocation and give exact numbers of how many are left, which is a feature I would very much like to see at OCuK...

I didn't say there wasn't any companies who wouldn't do this, I said I knew of none, and nearly all wouldn't have.

and in this case giving exact numbers of stock wouldn't of helped, as it the site wasn't updating the ammount left.

Usually when the stock runs out the item will no longer show, or you will get an error when adding it to your cart, as said above this was a unforseen computer error.

When you recieved your 3800 instead of a refund I bet you weren't complaining, and I also don't think you would've complained of unfairness if some people didn't get one.

OcUK now has no stock of 7800's, they cant give what they dont have, and they aren't going to go order new ones from suppliers at an even larger cost and loss to themselves.

That’s not a nice situation to be in, its going to cost a fair amount to post back.

So what about the people who haven’t even read this thread yet? the ocuk customers that don’t use the forums, they will be fully expecting their GT/GTX to arrive on monday morning :o

My point with the 3800+'s was that everybody who ordered one, even at the companie's huge expense (I estimate they lost at least £2000 on that), got one. Full stop. So no, of course I didn't complain about that, but can you tell me how it equal for one person to get a 7800gtx worth in excess of £170 and another to get a refund of £93? What is more annoying is that I will only be refunded for part of my order no doubt - which is very annoying indeed. I am aware the systems weren't working, but I don't know why there isn't remote access setup to fix this...

What I find most bizarre is I ordered really early (just after 5pm), whereas some people who ordered afew hours later (around 9pm) either got their GT or got it upgraded to a GTX!! I ordered 2x GTs hoping to use them in sli, I wasnt told anywhere I couldn't order 2, I wasnt told I will only receive 1 (I would have been perfectly happy with that), I wasnt told I will receive a GTX or anything else, instead im told I will receive non? Some of you guys consider yourselves lucky ;)

There is remote access, but getting a person whos got the details, and the qualifications to fix it can be the problem, especially with it being out of office hours at the start of the weekend.

The problems started on Friday morning with the first set of 7800's, not the weekend.

Most sites would have several techs available on call - it's called being "prepared" (or just common sense imho). Still OCuK will continue to be where I buy most of my stuff from, you can't drive me away that easily :p ... I'm bored of this argument, I'm going to bed.

Edit: Ok, ok - last bit. So Med, would it be ok for me to pay you the £93 and for you to send me the 7800gtx? Since the situation is so "even" to you, I don't suppose you would mind... Hahahha, as if!!!

my mate in nigeria said he would :p :p :p :p

I gave up on this too, just hope Gibbo could sort out something for us (who ordered the GTX) on Monday :)

btw, to those who ordered by CC, got cancelled and waiting to be refunded, does it still show on your CC bill/account the "pending transaction"? my 350 quid still on the air

lol

I was wondering the same. How long does it take for the money to get back in your account. I've now got a MM guy waiting for payment on an X1900XTX. Well unless Gibbo emails me and offers a discount (hint hint :D) I'll get it from there lol.
