stop using companies that use dpd

DPD are always on top of my list. Never fail on timeslots and deliver with care. They are the best around here.

I'm so annoyed. Just venting.

All dpd had to do was deliver a SIM card, I was switching to a new provider.

Vodafone ported my number and my service with Three ended. 'Just pop the new SIM card in'

What SIM card? Dpd never delivered it, they never even scanned it. According to their automated system they haven't got it. According to the vendor, they have.

So I'm disabled, live on my own and have no phone and it'll take 3-5 working days to send another sim. Tried to install app for wifi calling, verification code is via sms, which I can't get.

It's awful.

Dpd put up walls, they don't want to talk to people.

Phone number, automated no way to get through. 'Let's chat' - chatbot no way to talk to a person.

Terrible company.

I work in logistics and i can tell you its not DPD's fault, its the seller.

They can only scan when they have it plus when the DPD label is made, that is when you get an e-mail through saying they are 'preparing it' plus the tracking number that is automatically generated.

The seller are 'blaming DPD' to pass on the blame whilst they quickly resolve it and arrange a new label.

Someone didn't process your order correctly.

so glorified ubereats but for packages.

They refuse to deliver to me the drivers take a photo and drive off... i called up last time to be told "sorry driver wont answer his phone"

@LCG-xyz When I ported recently I waited to enter the PACs until I had the new sims for exactly this reason.

Are you able to get a PAYG sim to tide you over at least?
It's been a decade since I switched providers, I assumed you got the SIM, let them know you have it, they switch the service and you put the new card in.

I ordered on the 5th, was told the switch would happen on the 7th, which it did. Unfortunately I have no SIM to put in the phone.

I'm housebound so just gotta wait. Just hoping there's no emergencies as email is my only was to contact people right now.

I got an email from DPD saying the delivery was happening yesterday so I assume they don't send that email before they have the item.

Sorry to hear you're having problems with DPD, but as others have said they're normally one of the best couriers*.

If DPD don't have a record of having scanned the item into their system there is probably a 50/50 chance of it being down to them or down to Vodaphone, either not scanned onto the van or the driver didn't get some of the paperwork when loading, or it simply wasn't handed over.
I've had packages arrive in the past from Amazon for example that had my order in a big box but someone else's small order for the same area inside it (it looked like the card shipping envelope had fallen into my huge box before it had been sealed - I dropped it as it was just a couple of streets away).
Hopefully your card will arrive tomorrow if it's potentially been missed when the van's been loaded or unloaded.

*I rate them well above UPS who are/were a premier courier, but never seem to update their tracking and can still be showing "your delivery is expected by 6pm" at 1am the day after (I swear their system updates about 18 hours behind).
Well it's down to somebody.

What annoys me is there's no accountability. It's really dangerous and quite scary for me to be without a phone if something happens.

Nobody cares. DPD doesn't even want to talk to people and you hit a brick wall when trying to contact them.

I say this as a delivery driver myself, look at the vehicles they use, if they are good condition and clean then it's likely the company treat the staff with respect, if the vehicles are banged up messes then it's highly likely the staff are treated like nothing more than numbers and therefore don't care enough to give a crap about each delivery.

DPD to date have been great around me… always give a window and arrive within it, drivers always been friendly and helpful.

Quite often I’ll have had something that is expected to arrive on the monday but it’ll come out on Saturday morning too.

Actually one of my favourite couriers to use personally.

Same here always found DPD spot on, UPS are excellent too. DHL on the other hand turn up whenever they feel like.

My RMA from overclockers has been stuck at the depot for last 2 days with DPD due to "unexpected issue", fingers crossed it comes today

What's the longest you've been without a phone recently?

It's weird how conditioned we become to taking it everywhere. I've had no need to do that for a couple of days.

That is sent after the label is printed.

Someone lost your label at the warehouse sadly.
Sounds most likely, didn't know that, thanks.

Maybe I should change the thread title to don't use buymobiles.net
;)

DPD still need to employ some people to answer phones and man the chat on the site.

There must have been an issue there over the past couple of days. Ordered a Ninja Air Fryer the other day and it got held up with the same message. Due for delivery in about half an hour, though.
Did you get the package delivered? Mine hasn't yet updated since Wednesday... should have just taken the free delivery option.

Yeah, it updated overnight on Wednesday into Thursday to say it had reached the Edinburgh depot and got delivered around 3:30pm yesterday.

Seems a bit odd whatever is happening seeing as some parcels are getting through whereas others aren't.
