stop using companies that use dpd

Is it worth ordering online still or has the ship sailed for Christmas delivery?

I could save £12 by ordering online and getting express shipping, but is it really worth the chance of delivery services being over stretched and having the parcel delayed...

We're telling our customers 3-4 business days at the moment but recommending Express Shipping as even with that, couriers are adding 1-2 days of delays.

DPD for example:

Amazon is powering through. I have ordered 4-5 things now and all arriving in under 12 hours. I am in London though.

DPD are still absolutely dire at the moment - I have urgent medication in transit with them since last week.
All I get every day is a 'sorry, there's been a delay' message and no further updates - I rang them and turns out the parcel is at their main hub as my local depot (Liverpool) is swamped.

No one can give me an ETA apart from 'the backlog is bad, might be a week yet'.

I did get an email to my work address from the DPD sales team looking for us to re-join them after we bailed last year due to similar incidents - I look forward to replying to that!

If there hasn't been a scan in over 24 hours, its lost so it may be best to contact the sender.

I also have a very expensive order stuck in Hinckley depot at the moment. It was supposed to be delivered today... Grhhh
The person I spoke to half an hour ago reckoned the delay was actually at Hinckley, not Liverpool - when I questioned this further based on my earlier chat he hung up! :D
They're an absolutely wonderful company.

I had a DPD next day package that took a week to arrive. Granted it was ordered on Christmas week. Arrived yesterday (28th). Company I bought from refunded the postage though thankfully.

DPD have 5 huge Hubs in the UK and then they are directed to depots. Some depots are running really well and others are mad.

We managed to ship an order from London at 4pm on Friday to Cornwall and with the customer by 10am on a Saturday service on Xmas Eve via DPD. Not all bad!

Sent a return to ocuk dec 13th still hasn’t arrived at ocuk. Been at Stoke depot for weeks, support is insanely unhelpful and tend to just loop you around. Never really had issues with dpd in the past but this is crazy, heard that dpd stoke walked out over working conditions and now their depot is stuffed. I see comments back in November saying dpd has been loosing and delaying parcels for weeks there.

DPD are ridiculously bad. Had something being delivered, get a text saying "Sorry we missed you", didn't even knock on.

So I check the tracking and the joker has taken a picture of the completely wrong house. Well yeah mate, I cant answer someone else's door.

God knows where this door is as well, it's not even on in this street so he/she's done well. Golf clap.

Dpd are by far and away the best of a bad bunch

I’d rather £&@# in my hands and clap than use Evri or Royal Mail

Had this also, however instead of giving me options or actually trying to deliver the package, they tell me they are passing the item back to sender!

Contacted the seller and they were told that DPD had actually lost the item.
So a bit of fibbing going on somewhere.

Other than that, DPD are generally quite reliable IME.

Well my chair still hasn't turned up. OcUK have contacted DPD and they are shipping the item back to them. Should have arrived back yesterday or today.

Apparently I have to wait for it to arrive back before I can have a refund or for it to be re-dispatched. Even though DPD have confirmed to OcUK they are shipping it back. What a way to care about your customer.

Can't complain about any of the front line CS people I've spoke to though. Polite and just following a nonsense policy set by people that should do better.

Over 3 weeks and counting now.

jesus that's ridiculous. i'd have lost my **** with someone after a week!
Tbh, quite a shocking experience. Not at all want I expected from OcUK when things go wrong.

Hopefully it will be sorted by next week.

I expected as soon as DPD to say they are returning to sender that OcUK would immediately ship me another one. But apparently they don't think like most other retailers (at least in my experience). I guess they think this is ok.
