Stranger Things (Netflix)

I thought she was great

In fact all the acting was great including the kids

Decent show...makes the preacher look even more naff...

Stuff happened each episode in this ...

Did anyone else think that el might have made them all fly over the van like ET rather than flip it ?

I think E.T. fans would have moaned about that as a rip off :p

Just finished the last episode today. I think

Will has now acquired 11's powers judging by that bathroom segment at the end.

Just finished it. I really like it but at the same time I'm not sure why. It wasn't very scary, and supernatural things in general is not something I'm bothered about but I enjoyed it anyway.

Thought the kid actors were great, especially Eleven. I don't even know how to explain it but kids in tv shows and film tend to be a bit annoying, like the script/dialogue or whatever comes off as unnatural and flat. Just look at the kid in Walking Dead (urgh) then compare that to these kids.

It looked like what slithered out of the dead girl's mouth to me, more like monster spawn than anything to do with Elle

I thought Winona did a pretty amazing job of playing a totally freaked out parent faced with the utterly impossible.

Binged watched it last night thought it was brilliant.
Absolutely nailed the 80s with the music, clothes, hairstyles.
I thought it worked as a standalone series, wondering if it will be something different for a 2nd season.

Watched it all this weekend, brilliant show.

Netflix originals are some of the best TV I've ever watched, they seem to get it right every single time.

Loved this, all the 80s tropes were there and it was fun spotting where things had been borrowed from.

This will get a second series due to it's success but I'm not sure it's a good idea. A lot of the magic of things is lost when they are over explained. There is certainly ground for a second series but I really hope they don't spoil it.

I don't think it will be a problem, simply because of the Duffer brothers dislike of dropping "explanations" into a show. They prefer to let the story be revealed naturally, as the season develops. There is a lot of insight into how they put the series together in the article I linked to earlier.

Would have watched this all in one go if I had the time. Once I got to the 3rd episode I didn't want to stop watching it! Fantastic Series somehow managing to take all the great 80s cult films and putting them into 8 pint sized episodes.

Absolutely LOVE it, but then again I'm a massive fan of both Spielberg and Stephen King - which are both very obvious influences on the Duff Brothers.

All in all, I think this is the best new TV show I've seen this year; even better than 'Preacher' which I thought would take some beating!

I found it to be quite average.

The music was nice and the early story was good but:

a) Winona was awful in it. Overacting most the way through.
b) story was kinda predictable, as was the ending
c) just didn't entertain me in the way I had hoped

6/10 - wouldn't watch again.

I agree with you, it was very refreshing to begin with and although I enjoyed it through out, I thought the ending was a little underwhelming. Still best thing I've seen in a while because it wasn't a rehash of a detective show or some crap.

I started it the night before last and finished it last night and enjoyed it. I loved how they got the 80's kinda Spielberg Goonies/Super 8/Stand By Me kinda vibe perfect and the music was John Carpenter Fan-80's-tastic. It also had the creepiness of Stephen Kings IT and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do agree though that just like IT, it seemed to loose itself in the last few episodes and was not the greatest of endings.

Does anyone else think that season two will be a completely different story....kinda like they do with American Horror Story? A completely different story arc each season, I mean.

:)
