STREET FIGHTER IV - £16.19 Pre-Purchase On STEAM - BUY BUY BUY

Never can trust those IGN head to heads :( They gave the PS3 the edge.. Prob cos of the controller more than anything, but they obviously didn't test the online enough.

Weird! Eurogamer gave the 360 the edge on their comparisons (really not much in it though, graphically), however I've had both versions and the online is leaps ahead on the 360. I reckon IGN just preferred the controller.

PS3 version has abysmal online since the championship update, it's truly borked!

Just wanna add my 2penny's worth.. Bought this earlier on PC, and i've had nothing but excellent lag free games all evening, apart from maybe 2 or 3... Finding games seems easier than the console version for me... Overall i have to rate it higher than a console version for me... Can't see myself playing a console ver now i have this... Obviously the gfx are a nicer touch, plus i have a desk for my stick...

What are other people's opinion out of interest?

It thrashes the PS3's online mode but the 360's online is a fair bit better than it.

Problem was that on the PS3 version even on release, the 360 server browser was still better, found and joined games a lot faster. However these problems went into overdrive when they released the update.

When a game goes all laggy and stuttery, is there a way of ditching the match cos there really is no point in continuing them when they're like that?

Also, would you lot that have listed your tags in here mind if I add you to my friends? :) Mine's 'hahdooken' if you want to add me.

Man. these Sagats, Ryus, and especially Kens are really ****ing me off.

The Sagats just spam fireball, and knees that are hard for me to punish.
Ryus and Kens with their overuse of dragon punch - one guy i played threw out a hadoken at close range, which i blocked and immediately went to sweep. For some reason, he was mashing out a dragon punch during his hadoken and it out-prioritised my sweep.
It also means i can barely even learn the wake-up game, since you'll eat an uppercut if you're close, and even if you try a cross up, it always comes out in your direction. So i dont even bother going in close after they're knocked down.
I have to agree, there was the same problem with that russian westler but they fix it by reducing the hit box on that, but on the PS3 as well the hit box on Ryus and Kens dragon punches are stupidly large, which results in poorer players just spamming dragon punches to win. Sometimes i'm miles away and i still get hit. very fustrating. fireball spammers are a right pain as well. It's all good saying it's up to me to find a way round it but it doesn't make for an enjoyable game

Having said that i'm starting to hold my own with the Sagats out there. i swear he says 'fire truck' anyway, people who spam fireballs are usless if i get close enough and i hand there ass back to them, but it doesn't to often

The reason i choose Chun-Li is partley the challange and partley because i want something pretty to look at as i fight :D

I'm happier having just picked up the boxed copy for £14.98 plus 5% Quidco.

I have an Xbox controller for the PC... but might have to get one of the SFIV MadCatz pads!

I spam fireballs but safely, if you come anywhere near me you're in for a world of hurt. (as Sagat) :D

Btw English voiceovers suck apart from Cammy and Rufus, Sagat sounds ridiculous and so does Ryu!

This is how Sagat should sound;

Having not played the game since about 1993, I am finding the game very frustrating against the computer. It has the ability to spam fireballs and or special moves and combos at will.
I, on the other hand, am struggling to pull off a lot of moves partly down to a lack of skill, but mostly down to the Xbox 360 controller. The D Pad is next to usless and the analogue stick isn't much better.

Does the Macatz fight stick work with PC and is it any good? Or can some one recommend a reasonably priced arcade stick.

I bought this a few days back and the lobby is really starting to annoy me.

That's how it appears 90% of the time when searching for matches. I've tried creating a static IP , forwarding ports but it makes no difference. :(

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, that's the joy of SFIV online. Use fight request mode with stability as teh search parameter for better luck!

hmm I've not stumbled across that option yet, I'll have a look for it, cheers.

I hope Capcom don't disappoint and bring a patch out to remedy this. Maybe it's GFWL that's at fault ? either way it's frustrating.

press right bumper to change it, it's the auto join online fight mode when you play arcade.

It's not GFWL, as it's like that on the PS3 and 360 and has been for months.

I know with practice I will get better with the Xbox 360 pad and the game will become less frustrating.

But playing the CPU is bordering on ridiculous.

Changing the difficulty level doesn't seem to make any difference and the computer just spams the same moves over and over.

Sagat spams fireballs, Abel spams the same throw, Rufus seems to be stupidly fast for a fat guy and pumels me with so many combos that I hardly get a hit on him.

Not the most welcoming game to new players.
