STREET FIGHTER IV - £16.19 Pre-Purchase On STEAM - BUY BUY BUY

Man. these Sagats, Ryus, and especially Kens are really ****ing me off.

The Sagats just spam fireball, and knees that are hard for me to punish.
Ryus and Kens with their overuse of dragon punch - one guy i played threw out a hadoken at close range, which i blocked and immediately went to sweep. For some reason, he was mashing out a dragon punch during his hadoken and it out-prioritised my sweep.
It also means i can barely even learn the wake-up game, since you'll eat an uppercut if you're close, and even if you try a cross up, it always comes out in your direction. So i dont even bother going in close after they're knocked down.

How can I do a rematch?

Example: in arcade mode with open to LIVE ranked games. So a new contestant arrives, I loose the game and it takes me back to my arcade game. How can I find that player again?

Also, everyone here asks each other for a game, how would I find you in that case? i.e. find the the person and invite them to a match?

Well after ranked games, you always go back to the online lobby. I assume its a random that you fought, so just press Home, then Players. The last person you fought should be at the top of your list.

To have games with 'friends' or 'people you know', just find out their Games For Windows Live ID and add them, or they can add you. After that, again click Home, then Friends.

My ID is ArtheasWL :P

I'm starting wish I hadn't bought this game now, Capcom has a very strange idea of difficulty for arcade mode, I don't expect to have to fight someone 10 times to beat them on Easiest.

It's solid isn't it? I do ok on 'Very Easy' until the 'rival' bout, where the difficulty seems to take a sudden leap and it takes me several attempts to get past him/her. Then the final boss fight is near impossible. Wasn't sure if I was just dreadful at the game or it was really hard.

I stuck it on Easiest just to unlock some characters and everyone was fine (even Seth), apart from Zangief who would just destory me, sometimes I would barely have a chance to land a single punch. Would just suplex me over and over.

Why does the game have to have easy, medium etc ratings. What was wrong with 1-8 stars? I used to fing Alpha 3 quite easy on 7 stars, but all but impossible on 8. I can fairly easily beat SF4 on medium, quite easily infact, but Seth beats the cack out of me over and over after the first won bout.

Change it to player match and not ranked or competition match.. Make sure your little icon is blue and not green or tan... You won't rack up any battle points, but you'll be able to rematch your opponent, until one of you decide to throw in the towel.

Just wanna add my 2penny's worth.. Bought this earlier on PC, and i've had nothing but excellent lag free games all evening, apart from maybe 2 or 3... Finding games seems easier than the console version for me... Overall i have to rate it higher than a console version for me... Can't see myself playing a console ver now i have this... Obviously the gfx are a nicer touch, plus i have a desk for my stick...

What are other people's opinion out of interest?

Yes but you can just download and install the no-cd patch. Don't think there is anything wrong with that if you have purchased the game, you can then put the cd away.

I can confirm this.. I had a single player only version installed, and just bought the Steam ver.. I'm just using the key that they instantly gave me..

Not really ever used Steam before.. What does Steam do with the 5odd gig it downloads? Does it store it, or once the game is installed, delete it?

It's just that Steam is still downloading my Steam ver, even though i'm up and running from my previous version. Just curious that's all.

Never can trust those IGN head to heads :( They gave the PS3 the edge.. Prob cos of the controller more than anything, but they obviously didn't test the online enough.

The PS3 was fine on release, but then the championship patch was release and it all went terribly, terribly wrong. Capcom have admitted there's issues but still haven't done anything about it in what must be about 2 months now.
