Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I also did ultra, then teleported behind him to win the game.

Pretty sick, you should try it, don't know if you've got the execution though :p

Are any of you guys looking forward to the release of Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition ?

I haven't bought any version as of yet and I am waiting for this version.

Capcom really know how to milk it though :p

It's pretty much the same game with some broken characters (Yun and Yang are clearly the top 2 in AE) and some chav characters (Oni and E.Ryu are so well targeted for the Ryu/Ken market).

They've also purposely unbalanced the game to "make it more interesting", so other than the buffs DeeJay critically needed I'm not looking forward to the Ryu/Akuma/E.Ryu/Oni scrub-fest and getting thrashed by Yun/Yang/Fei Long.

Not interested at all, game has been re-balanced for the worst and my favourite character to play has had his second ultra made ****. (Bison)

My only annoyance is I pretty much have to play it because nobody will be playing Super. Won't be playing Bison though.

It wouldnt suprise me if more people than you think revert to mainly playing super.

i thought you hated ssf4? yeah the bison ultra nerf is stupid. who could you be playing then?

GGs meansfgamer and alexgrandmaster, I swear my sticks broken, I taunted about 2-3 times in that session while trying to do ultra. :/ I wish I could blame the stick lol, shocking when you miss a free hit ultra though, hey meansf... theres a new Guile on the block :D;)

Edit: Heres one combo I managed to pull off:

jp.mk > cr.lp > cr,lp > cr.lp > cr.mk > EX.fireball > FADC > Ultra > taunt lol

I actually did no 2 ONCE in a game vs Artheas agesss ago but I still remember it because I actually suprised myself, and he msg'd me saying thats the best combo I've ever done against him. :p

It was basically a jumping attack followed by cr.mp, cr.mp , dp, fadc, ultra. Very very hard to pull off though for me, my timing is useless. This is the first game I've ever played in my life where I have done any sort of combos (or tried too) or used an arcade stick. It's good fun though I will have a crack at some of them in training mode, cheers Kreeeee.

I actually remember that. It was on SF4 PC wasn't it?

If you don't want to risk missing links and being punished heavily after your dp (or waste 2 bars fadcing to make it safe), you can do jumping attack, cr.lp, cr.lp, dp, fadc, ultra

Better to do cmp clp in that case.

No worries adz.

I havent tried it, but i'm not sure that would prevent dp coming out if you miss the link.

With cr.lp, cr.lp, if you chain the 2nd cr.lp, then dp doesnt come out, and you're safe. If you link it, then you get the dp, which will hit.
With cr.mp, cr.lp, i'm guessing that either you hit the link and combo, or you miss it and you get a blocked cr.lp, dp.

to be honest, is better to do c.lk, c.lp (or one more c.lp if you cant cancel right away), dp, fadc, ultra after a jumpin anyway. because all those combos you guys mention doesnt hit low and this is easier to do while giving you time to hit confirm

Cm cmp does way more damage and actually gives you more time to hit confirm. Doing lows after jump ins are a waste of potential damage on any non scrub.

Just started playing some sf4. Am i too late to start ?? Im uber newb. :)

Kree you seem more than clued up, any tips for news? or just prac prac prac ;)

SF4 is by far and away the easiest fighting game, so you're never too late.

When starting out, pick Ryu (every newbie plays him anyway) at do the following basics:

Opponent far away: Fireball
Opponent jumps at you: crouch heavy punch or dragon punch
Opponent is within striking distance: crouch medium kick to fireball (down + medium kick, down-forward, forward+punch)
Opponent is touching you: throw

Stick with those rules until you're comfortable, then build on it with combo's, focus attacks, how to approach etc as you gain experience.

You're better off getting advice from anyone else though as they all rinse fighting games and SFIV far more than me. I'm just good at reading people, not at fighting games, so I'm about average or just below average for the standard on these forums.
