Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I can get down there for about 10.30pm, it's only around the corner from me. If they need a player then you can count me in.

How did you do then? Glad they managed to get 8 as I'd have been struggling to make it down anyway, footy over ran a bit and by the time I'd showered up and changed it was 11.

I got to the final but lost against an Akuma player. His execution was spot on and used all of Akuma arsenal. I struggled to adjust to offline playing, there were even times when I pressed buttons and Abel just took a pounding as I was too slow.

Overall happy I got so far, he won 3 - 1 (first to three). First two games I was too careless and aggressive. Then pulled one back by being patient and countering him. Really nice set if guys there too :-)

Guy called Tom who went to Gamerbase. He mains Akuma, Guy and I can't remember. Not seen anyone else before. Hope they do another one with more players in the tourney and another setup.

Are there any regular PS3 players here still for SSF4AE?

I have just picked this up after playing with some friends and getting hammered. Looking for people to help me improve once I have spent ages in the training room.

NEW VENUE
===
So the old place has closed due to the building coming under new ownership and so the dance studio has been relocated to
103 Temperance Street, Manchester, M12 6HR. Pictures coming hopefully soon to give you a preview, it's definitely bigger than the old place! We've also had to increase the the entry a little bit higher also as we ourselves are being charged extra for the venue hire.

PS3 Pads

NOT BANNED. Subject of much conversation here on MBA recently but we've taken the decision to not ban wireless controllers. Reasons for this to bring in as many players as possible without hindering their performance and going out of their way to get a converter which they may not have needed before. We're going to have a desync station for to reduce disruption (see rules)

Tournament Rules
====
Brackets:
Players will be seeded appropriately (based on previous tournament placings and skill repute) and placed into a double elimination bracket. All matches are going to be 3, i.e. you have to win three/two games respectively to win the match. With the exception of grand finals, where the player who enters grand finals from the losers bracket has to win two sets to win the match.

Characters:
If you win a match you must stick with the charcter choice (the loser can have the choice to rematch or re-pick their characters) Winners however can still switch up their character order and assists.

Consoles+controllers:
SF4will be on XBOX and TTT2 on PS3. Wireless xbox controllers are banned. PS3 wireless controllers are allowed, however it is your responsibility to IMMEDIATELY turn them off after your match and plug your controller to the desync Station and press the Sync button. Failure to do so that results in interrupting another Tournament match will be an automatic loss on your next Game.
Time:
Casuals will be available from approx 12:00pm and will finish at the end of the day at approx 6pm.
Tournament will begin at 1:00pm prompt.
You will not be able to participate in the tournament if you are any later than 12:50pm. There will be no leniency towards late comers.
If you fail to show up to your match in adequate time, (3 shouts) then your match will be forfeited.
Pausing and any interruption during a match in progress will deem a round forfeit unless the opponent says otherwise.
Admins will be strict with their decisions since we must ensure the tournament finishes with adequate time.
You should check your buttons first then go back to character select screen to begin the match. It is your responsibility to ensure your buttons are correct.

Casuals:
The tournament provided by MBA will have a top priority in the setups (unless you bring your own) but any spare consoles will be allowed for casuals, there should be time before and after the tournament for these to be used (subject to time constraints)

£19 for a tourney is on the steep side.
All the ££ with be going to the organisers as well as I imagine Capcom won't want anything from it. They did the 25th for free and that was much bigger.

Still there is a DKR tournament which has my name written on the gold medal!
