Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I forgot how infuriating elrasho's Abel is...

Cheers for the games last night mate, one thing I learnt is I'm nowhere near as good as I thought I was lol. More practice needed :D

Does anyone have any decent tips to get better? I struggle no matter what grip I have on the joy stick to be equal on both sides, one side I do whatever I want at will (normally) and the other I can't :(

Ggs mate, keep practising! I've probably been playing a lot longer then you even though I'm just getting back into it after a few months lay off.

Honestly, you can research the internet all you want and talk to hundreds of people but you're not going to find a shortcut to getting better you just have to keep practicing. The main thing I would suggest is do not play guys on here all the time when you're new, I did this and whilst everybody is very helpful you're still getting battered constantly and it's not a lot of fun. Try and find people on your own level to play against, I'm talking about people you can run tight sets with constantly.

Then every once and a while play a few guys from on here to gauge how much you have improved, maybe once a week or so. Just grind your weak out in training mode until you're comfortable, it's not going to happen overnight it takes time.

Sound advice.

I find your Abel so so random and the only time I have success is when I also be totally random and do things I normally wouldn't do. I've got a decent Gouken player on my friends list, he wants to play you, I'll give you a shout next time we are on.

What's his gamertag or ask him to add me. I'm not random I just get 'good feelings' about the games I play. Sometimes I have bad days where I lose to no bodies.

Your play is very bizarre. Most people take calculated risks but you don't seem to care about the cons of an option, which makes you very unpredictable.

There are cons to the mighty Abel? I know what you mean I've not seen another Abel like mine, most rely on pressure and st.mk into dash. My technique is crap for all that stuff.

tip pick against random roll n' throw and wheel kick happy abel:

pick chun li, stand outside of max roll range, do s.hp and jump up hk (the one that hits both side)

mix those two up, especially j.hk. even if you just throwing out random j.hk, abel cant punish it and it will beat all those options if thats all he know how to do. it will hit from the other side if he wants to random roll and it will beat wheel kicks.

The standard of play is a lot weaker on the PC version, I've managed to get to 3000pp quite easily but always found it tough on xbox. If any of you other guys play on the PC let me know, I've only got elrasho on my friends list from here (Also cHk4 but he's relatively new).

Is this in Fallowfield? If so it's literally a 5 min drive away from me. Do you have the full address? I'm playing footy on Friday at 9pm but I may pop down after for a while.

What time is the SF4 tourney scheduled for?
