Just out of interest, does anyone know of any other players that have gone around biting other players? What was the punishment? I can't think of any.

There wont be many, it's very unusual to bite, he needs some proper psychiatric help
 
His bite may not be 'as bad' in terms of hurting the other player, but it's just a code of ethics that we as humans have in us, don't bite someone and don't kick someone in the nuts :P
This is real messed up in the head stuff, a deep rooted problem he has that he can't control.

Be very interested to see how this plays out from both Fifa, FA and Liverpool.

You asked, I simply answered, no idea if defoe did anything in his career, never played anywhere that I really gave a ****. (Edit: Actually thats not to say I don't think he didn't deserve a ban regardless and to say he had done nothing before as an excuse for not being banned is silly)

I don't think the FA should get involved unless Fifa ask them to. I don't think his ban will be as severe as people think...

Ideally its a ban through Copa America but I have no idea if FIFA rule over that, if he misses a large tournament for his country its the only way I see him learning not to do the stuff that results in large bans

Pretty obvious why he denied it :p

Why he did it though I'm sure he can't really even say exactly why, it might benefit him for a couple of minutes if he gets away with it but in the end he is going to pay as he has done every other time.

I think if FIFA can impose a ban domestically they could in the Copa America. LFC will always stand by a prize and valuable asset as would any other club...I expect the same again.
