Exactly!!! One more warning isnt going to make a jot of difference

well the thing is, the guy is a complete moron, everyone in Uruguay seemed convinced he wouldn't get a ban. Suarez never actually thinks he's done anything wrong and may have thought he was getting a 3match ban. If you upfront say, the next incident is a 6 month ban minimum, well, that is something that is a bit different to saying next time you could get anything from a 3 match red card equivalent to a year.

I'm not saying it will work, but if you tell him upfront just exactly how bad the next ban will be, then maybe his tiny little brain could comprehend the consequences.

It's amazing how every time he seems to think he's innocent and he won't get punished badly, it's not just denial, it's basically delusional. The guy is nuts and I genuinely think he's capable of doing something completely bat **** crazy in the future, any possible means to prevent him doing so(not for his sake but his next victim) I think should be taken.

Remove the doubt about the next ban and his stupid brain thinking maybe it won't be bad, tell him flat out, it will be a full year and a 1million fine. Fact is they have nothing to lose by adding a suspended ban, and it might just open his eyes to what will happen if he does it again.

they shouldn't give him the opportunity to even consider it. liverpool fans with their 'woe is me' attitude (again) seem to overlook the fact that it is a lenient sentence and he's been treated with kid gloves in actual fact.

it's the third time he's done it. it shows a complete lack of respect for club, country and the sport and the fact he is such a big name is actually why the punishment is so lenient. if it was someone else of a lower standing who had offended 3 times, i feel the ban would be 12 months as nobody would miss him.

30 odd games pretty big

Wouldn't call 30 games a slap on the wrist, unless you mean financially?

I may be missing something here (such as a confirmation of when the ban is enforced) but assuming it's starting now then he only misses 9 games at the start of next season, plus the 9 internationals (which after the WC would have been virtually irrelevant games anyway), where is the 30 coming from?

3 CL games, 2 Carling cup games(this might be less, teams in europe start later in the tournament, they played 2 by 26th october last season).

I think it will work out at 22 games officially, a bunch of preseason friendlies. But realistically missing out on up to 4 WC games is pretty huge, almost anyone would consider knock out stage games for the WC as a far bigger miss than a league game.

I've said around 30 before, just to confuse people. Seriously though if it was me I would be completely gutted to miss the knock out games, I would say 4 WC games = 8 league games in importance to the player, so to me it's a bit like an equivalent to a say 26-28 domestic(well Liverpool) ban.

I do think it's a little harsher than just a 22 game league/cc/cl ban. How much worse is difficult to quantify, particularly as we won't know how far they could go if he was playing, or they might go to the final or third place play off anyway.

Yea, him missing the knock out's are massive. The league is your bread and butter, the WC only comes round every 4 years. He'll be crying like..

For god sake rumours now appeared we may consider legal action against fifa due how the four month ban effects us :/ tbh I disagree we shouldn't take any action I think he is best striker I've seen in allot of years but he has dragged our club through enough and a time does come when enough is enough

Legal action?! I don't feel that would be wise on Liverpool's part.

I'm actually impressed by the vast majority of Liverpool fans basically saying what you are saying there, he's an embarrassment to your club. It's difficult though because he's such a good player.

Yup was posted up on twitter and will be an article in the times, the photo of the article is circulating now, I think it's completely daft idea, this saga will go on all summer and just give us more of a headache in the long run

May consider legal action. And of course the club are taking legal advice on the matter. Their star player has just been banned for playing 10+ games for them and they have had no involvement in the bite, the disciplinary hearing or the right to appeal. It would be absolutely bonkers of them to sit there and do nothing. They need to find out exactly what their rights are and look after the clubs best interests.

Some of the replies are laughable, whilst fifa are inaccurate in all punishments I really have no issues with this one, one of common themes seems to be suarez not being allowed to train, banned from stadium etc that's the only way to punish him by taking him away from his passion and what he loves if anything it's shorter than we all expected, if he is still our player next season and beyond we what miss him 9 games? That's not that many more than last time anyway

Well this is going to end well. Just sell the bugger!!

Wonder if he got stranded in the Andes with his team mates, would he return to civilization over weight?
