Suarez signs new contract

This really depends on the size of the buyout clause that is likely in the contract if Liverpool fail to make the top four again. It'll no doubt be fairly large, at least £70m. It's good news for Liverpool either way really. I can't see Arsenal paying these huge sums for him, PSG might though.

I'm sure there will be a clause, probably linked to know CL football but as Robbo says it will be at least £70m

It's been a sterling bit of work by Liverpool to get to this stage, a real win/win situation. Suarez sorts his head out after publicly taking the **** out of Liverpool, gets his head down, scores loads, they tie him up with a new deal so if he does leave it's on their terms and for what they consider a fair price.

Nicely played.

That's the annoying thing, it looks like Liverpool are being managed properly at every level again.

Scouse ****s

;)

Rumors are that the release clause is £102m with Champions League qualification, and £80m without. Either way, just wanted to embark on this fun exercise to find out what underlies the whole contract. Of course I wouldn't want to sell him even for £80m!

It's an insurance policy really. Made up he has 'committed his future' to us but the contract is just a policy to cover our backs should the vultures come sniffing.
