How come the police haven't been involved so far in this case? Whats different between what JT said and what saurez have said?

The CPS are involved in the Terry incident because it was a member of the public that reported him. AFAIK Anton Ferdinand hash''t actually even reported Terry to the FA so it's possible once the CPS' verdict has been announced later today that could be the end of it (unless I'm wrong and Ferdinand does want the FA to pursue the matter)

It would be a farce if they didn't. Does it matter who reported the incident?

For whether or not the FA get involved I'd imagine it does. The FA's hands are tied at the moment because of the CPS' investigation, if they find Terry guilty then they're hands are tied for even longer while a trail is organised etc. We'll know if the FA are to do anything with Terry should the CPS find him not guilty. I suspect if the CPS' find him not guilty that'll be good enough for the FA* (especially given he's England captain and there's a massive international tournament round the corner)

*again unless Ferdinand does decide to pursue the case through the FA

and this being true

in MY opinion he doesn't deserve the lenthy ban

thats the last thing ill say

Have to disagree with this, having thought about it more I'm quite angry it is only 8 games, it should be at least double that, we can't take racism so lightly, 8 games is a bit of a joke.

Got a pie chart to prove that?

Taking it you think Rooney should have got quadruple that for pretty much just assaulting someone by kicking them as hard as possible?

Also if this is true our players warming up wearing Suarez shirts, the club must be pretty confident the FAs verdict is as ******** as the organisation.
Or before in accused of Manu bashing didn't van Persie nutt a keeper a few years back?
Unless of course verbal abuse is worse than physical.

I think eight games is bordering on too harsh. Maybe eight with three suspended would have been more suitable. In saying that it's difficult for the FA and hard to criticise them given that they have to balance a strong anti-racism stance with cultural differences. A learning curve for them and Suarez.

You're funny :D don't you think it's better to post nothing than to post something stupid? No offence or anything

So what do you think, physical abuse should get a lighter punishment than 16 games?

And at the other guy read the edit.

This thread isn't about Wayne Rooney or physical abuse, and its punishment.

This thread is about Luis Suarez and his racism charge/punishment.

Are you in the wrong thread sir?

I think that's deflection to be honest. I was talking about Suarez and his racism charge. It'd be a long day if we were to go into the punishments for lots of different charges, and unrelated.

But for the record I do agree, bans for horrendous tackles/assaults should be way more than 3 games, as I say, can't see how it's related

To steal a post from elsewhere...

It seems that there is an awful lot of outrage about something we actually know very little about yet.

As far as I can work out, the facts that we know are:-

1) Evra said something to Suarez. This may or may not have been offensive.

2) Suarez replied to this, in a manner that may or may not have been offensive.

3) Suarez has potentially recieved an 8 game ban, for reasons that have yet to be explained.

4) The ban may or may not turn from being a potential ban to an actual ban, depending on the outcome of appeals / legal action.

So perhaps everyone needs to calm down a little, and wait until more information is available?

Mate all I'm asking is which you think is more serious?
To the guy above, I said to not bother with the Rooney example and rather rvp, stop being a moany ****.
