Between 4 and 7 November, the FA obtained signed witness statements from the
following individuals: Mr Evra, Mr Marriner (the referee), Mr Phil Dowd (the fourth
official at the match), Sir Alex Ferguson (the Manchester United manager), Mr Ryan
Giggs, Valencia, Hernandez, Nani, and Anderson (all Manchester United players). In the
case of each of the Manchester United players who provided a witness statement, except
for Mr Giggs, the statement was provided in the player's native language and also in
English, using the services of a professional translator. This meant that statements were
provided in Spanish for Valencia (who is Ecuadorian) and Hernandez (who is Mexican),
and in Portuguese for Anderson (who is Brazilian) and Nani (who is Portuguese).
The only witness statement, later in the document, from a Liverpool player (Kuyt) was dismissed for being unreliable. Other than De Gae, Kuyt was the closest to the incident.

Also find it strange that the whole document tries to prove Suarez is a racist yet the conclusion from both the FA and Evra is that's he's not racists and neither were the words he used.

What exactly are you stunned at? I take it you are going along with Evra's statement as to what actually happened then?

 Yes. Doesn't the review state his version of events 'It was accepted by both Mr Greaney and Mr McCormick in closing submissions that this is not simply a case of one person's word against another.' and that Suarez changed his story multiple times. How much more obvious can this get? Remove Liverpool from this situation, nobody cares about Liverpool in this (they may have been a bit callous, but nothing shocking), just the racism

They did though didn't they Purdy? They gave evidence in which they admitted and stated that Suarez called Evra a negro and then they called Evra a liar and unreliable casting aspersions on him.

Disgraceful behaviour.

Yes he admitted to calling Evra a Negro once, he didn't admit to saying blackie, blackie, blackie to him so if they believe Suarez why wouldn't they call Evra a liar?

Try video evidence, still just what evra says goes at this point.

Dismissed by Suarez as being unrealiable, apparently it was lost in translation according to him, despite the fact that Kuyt was speaking Dutch, which I'm sure he has a pretty firm grasp on ..

"We reject Mr Kuyt's evidence that Mr Evra said that the referee was only booking him because he was black, however certain Mr Kuyt was"

How do they decide this stuff? Picking sides for lulz?

Apparently evra can be a credible witness to an incident based around himself?

Independent panel found Evra to be a "credible witness" and Suarez to be "unreliable in relation to matters of critical importance".

Which is a nice way of saying Suarez is a liar and changed his story multiple times and can't be trusted.

OMG it's like talking to a brick wall

Mr Suarez's account of his admitted use of the word "negro" changed several times. He seemed unsure of when the admitted use took place and what triggered it. His account seemed to change in an attempt to fit in with the video evidence.

There was video evidence

Kuyt did? You read that in the report?

Might be getting confused with names etc. as I've read about 50 paragraphs over the last 15 minutes, I'm sure I read that post-game the ref interviewed Comolli (I think?) and a Liverpool player too (Kuyt I thought?)

'The position, therefore, is as follows. Mr Suarez spoke in Spanish to Mr Comolli soon after
the game about this serious allegation. Mr Suarez also spoke in Dutch to Mr Kuyt. Both
Mr Comolli and Mr Kuyt understood Mr Suarez to have told them that when he spoke to
Mr Evra he said words which translate into English as, "Because you are black". According
to Mr Suarez, Mr Comolli misheard what Mr Suarez said in Spanish, and Mr Kuyt
misheard what Mr Suarez said in Dutch'

Suarez is really coming out of this awfully

yep and then changed it at the hearing.

What I don't get is Evra said he doesn't believe Suarez is racist as did the FA but if what Evra claims Suarez said to him is true then he seems pretty racist to me, that just doesn't add up.

Comolli and Kuyt gave evidence. I haven't got to what Comolli's supposed to have said but it's said that Kuyt didn't know what was said between Evra and Suarez but believed that Evra was provoking Suarez, which was why he stepped between them.

Nothing from what I've read says that Kuyt backed up Evra's version of events.

Point 256,he admits to using the word negro so how anyone can defend him is beyond belief, but no Liverpool fans will still think they are hard done by.the panel already said they don't think he is racist he just made a racist comment which is what he was banned for
