Suarez

*shrug*

Threads meander for a day, or two, sometimes. Transfer window threads have loads about Manyoo, for example, every now and then. It's not the end of the World!

So?

Just because it happens occasionally in another thread doesn't mean it's "okay" in here. Transfer discussion is also a bit different because sometimes it develops in to needing to talk about which players suit teams or which type of players certain teams "need".

LOL between two United fans as well :o

"fans" :o

What does this have to do with Suarez? This is in danger of becoming a generic Liverpool thread.
Everything because

Suarez is a Liverpool prayer and currently one of our best and our top scorer.
How do you expect us to talk about his possible 9 match ban without any body commenting on how it will affect Liverpool's hope of finishing 4th.

Sometimes i don't get it how you expect us to talk of Suarez without mentioning LFC. The two are currently inseparable especially when we are talking of a ban

I don't care. When Liverpool openly displays their support for Suarez the way they have been doing, they deserve nothing less than to languish at the bottom of the table and their fans to be mocked.

Liverpool are ****. Thatcher had the right idea - nothing less than managed decline will do.

Read some quotes and it came down to one mans word against anothers and the FA sided with Evra. This is going to court.

oh, and if you do accept the cultural differences thing are you right with all the liverpool fans who have ripped into evra for reporting someone calling him a negro?

The two versions of what happened from each of them aren't even close to being the same, saying that if Evra isn't lying then I can't see any way a Liverpool fan could support Suarez in this, if however the FA have just took Evra's word over Suarez's as to what happened without clear video evidence Liverpool must have a very good case for appeal.

What's the problem? Suarez admits saying "negro" and the panel state that they were judging whether it was offensive in the context of a football match played in England, which it is. I find it amazing that Suarez supposedly goes around calling people like Glen Johnson "negro" and no-one at Liverpool has said to him that it's not the best thing to call people...

To sum up Evra's account of the incident first....

In the goalmouth, Mr Evra and Mr Suarez spoke to each other in Spanish. Mr Evra asked Mr Suarez why he had kicked him, referring to the foul five minutes previously. Mr Suarez replied "Porque tu eres negro", meaning "Because you are black". Mr Evra then said to Mr Suarez “say it to me again, I’m going to punch you”. Mr Suarez replied "No hablo con los negros", meaning "I don't speak to blacks"

Suarez's retort....

Mr Suarez denied the Charge. His case, in short, was as follows. He agreed with Mr Evra that they spoke to each other in Spanish in the goalmouth. When Mr Evra asked why he had kicked him, Mr Suarez replied that it was a normal foul and shrugged his shoulders. Mr Evra then said that he was going to kick Mr Suarez, to which Mr Suarez told him to shut up. As Mr Kuyt was approaching, Mr Suarez touched Mr Evra's left arm in a pinching style movement. According to Mr Suarez, at no point in the goalmouth did he use the word "negro". When the referee blew his whistle to stop play, Mr Evra spoke to Mr Suarez and said (in English) "Don't touch me, South American". Mr Suarez replied "Por que, negro?". He says that he used the word “negro” in a way with which he was familiar from his upbringing in Uruguay. In this sense, Mr Suarez claimed, it is used as a noun and as a friendly form of address to people seen as black or brown-skinned (or even just blackhaired). Thus, it meant "Why, black?" Mr Suarez maintained that when he said "Por que, negro?" to Mr Evra, it was intended in a conciliatory and friendly way. Mr Suarez said this 6 was the only time that he used the word “negro” in his exchanges with Mr Evra during the match.

Basically whether you decide Evra's lying or not Suarez admits to using the word negro which was at best naive

Mr Suarez's account of his admitted use of the word "negro" changed several times. He seemed unsure of when the admitted use took place and what triggered it. His account seemed to change in an attempt to fit in with the video evidence.

Maybe he's just forgetful? :p
