Subaru-powered Toyota FT-86 gets closer to production...

I _really_ want one of these.

In fact, it's about the only car that could lure me back in to financing a vehicle. I just hope that there is plenty of supply when they go on sale. I'd want to wait for a year old example, I think, which is useless if they are still sitting up around 25k because no one can get one (think Focus RS).

I'm a little disappointed by the 0-60, ( I know that's not the point of it but meh) its half a second slower than my celica 190. That said there is not a chance in hell that they wont do a hotter version of this thing in the near future.

It's a sports car....it counts for some at least.

Not expecting Lambo or Nissan GTR time but 6s is around z4/350z, hell, the BMW 125i can do 0-60 in 6.4s.

Z4 35i has 300bhp. The 350Z has over 300bhp.

The point of this car is to be a manageable sports car much like the MX5.

And who cares about 0-60 times? 12 year olds.

This car will be loads of manageable fun on a B road or track.

To even question the 0-60 time of this car kind of defeats the object of this car. So to ask the question, or to moan about the 0-60 means you are missing the point. You do not need speed to have fun, the MX-5 proves this time and time again. This is actually faster than an MX-5 and yet still too slow?

you know i don't care completely about the 0-60 but it is quite indicative of its performance really. sure you lose -0.1 second due to a shift into third but surely the whole point of a car like this is to be quicker than your average 2.0 turbo diesel or some such...
