I get the impression he's not a fan all in all

To be honest in 6 minutes of moody out of focus, in focus, out of focus shots and laughable comments about how much of an effort it is to overtake in a relatively light 200BHP car was that the guy could do with a shave. I think they couldn't have said less in 6 minutes if they had just done a Family Guy style cut away to some Conway Twitty!

I went to the Toyota garage out at Newbridge ("Edinburgh") which just recently opened. They had one on the showroom floor, and I must say that in the flesh it looks fantastic. They can't tax it until 1st July, but once that happens they're starting a book for test drives, with orders having started already with expected delivery in August.

I did get to have a seat in it -- pretty nice interior, not sure I'm fond of the red stitching but I'll see if it grows on me or not. Unfortunately if I'm going to get one I'm going to be sat in test-pilot pose all the time as the seat needs to be reclined about 30 degrees before I even fit my head in! Anyone know of anything in a similar vein where I wouldn't have this sort of problem? (I'm 6'4!)

Excellent news that they've started appearing in showrooms. Time to go arrange a test drive.
You may find they won't have it local to you for a few weeks yet, the salesman was telling me that Edinburgh Newbridge got one as part of their opening ceremony.

Of course it won't be long before they're everywhere if they're shipping in August!

I went to the opening release at my local dealer. I am very much a fan of the Subaru version. The interior is really a big step forward for Subaru (except the radio) rear seats fold, and you can actually sit in the back with someone in the front.

Can't wait for a test drive. Will post some pics and more details later.

Went to see the BRZ on Saturday. Didn't get a test drive. But very impressed on just looking at it.

I think it looked really nice. Interior was great, seats were great, the rear seats usable with the ability to fold them for bigger boot space (which was decent enough.) It's very low slung. The engine is really low in the engine bay. Seating position feels excellent. The only let downs for me are the rear lights, horrible looking standard radio, and the wheel gap. Other than that, I'm really looking forward to having a go in (a hopefully manual) one!

:)

It looks the part and the FR layout is just the ticket but is 200bhp going to be enough? Being an NA engine it's not even going to be possible to screw too much more out of it easily without FI.

Worth buying one and dropping the STi engine in?

I wouldn't mind one of these if it had a sensible amount of power - my E36 has similar 0-60 times and that feels quite slow tbh.

:(

not sure about the spoiler on that, and that rear airbag looks a little roapy.... but they do look pretty nice all in all :D

Looking forward to getting one out and giving it a go next month :D

Me too. I just have this niggling feeling I'm going to be bitterly disappointed by the loud pedal.
