Subnautica

C'mon then! Let's see those bases!

BTW, i've never vidcapped anything, and didn't even think to consider that you'd be able to hear what i was listening to (Giantwaffle on another monitor). Just mute it!+

Very mild spoilers if you look hard enough, or if you dont want to know what vehicles become available.

Your base is awesome! Wish I were that creative.

I haven't built up much of a base. I get fps drops inside of mine, if I take literally one step out of an exit be it through the Moonpool or a hatch, the fps goes back to solid and stays there wherever I go. Soon as I take one step back inside, it drops again. This was before I had loads of items in storage even. So for that reason I lived mostly in my Cyclops :D

This game looks interesting but can you guys help me understand what the end goal is? So I get that you need to build up your base to aid your survival but is there an actual story / campaign to play through? What are you ultimately trying to achieve or how do you complete the game? Is there more to it than just exploration and building the best base your imagination and found resources allow?

There is a story but honestly it'll spoil it to explain.

The game is a great mix of sandbox and campaign.

You start out with no idea what's going on, the game gives you literal clues and you piece together what's happening. Then it throws things at you to deal with. The whole time you have to maintain your exploration and resource gathering.

I don't think it's beneficial to explain any more as it will seriously spoil it.

Thanks. It does sound really good and I appreciate you not divulging any more details. This is all I needed to know. I'll be picking this up on pay day next week!

Thanks, will try again tomorrow. Really struggling with navigation in this.

I'm fine with flight sims and stuff, but with this I can never recognise where I am in different biomes.

I will be staying away from scuba diving IRL thats for certain.

It gets easier to recognise stuff. Start making becons to mark different biomes or micro bases. I've got a 1 room base in every biome with storage and a fabricator. Name them with beacons to help.

Then you can ferry between them in the seamoth pretty fast.

LR can be found at
lifepod 2

I found this too when I played. A good tip you can do is push f1, it will tell you what biome you're in. Breaks immersion a little bit of course but it helped me no end get used to navigating. Didn't need it by the end.
