Subnautica

Awww half the fun was working towards extended air tanks. Also seamoth gives you unlimited air!

My first trip into jellyshroom was 400m of pipes coming out of a floating pump. That was madness.

Thanks, will try again tomorrow. Really struggling with navigation in this.

I'm fine with flight sims and stuff, but with this I can never recognise where I am in different biomes.

I will be staying away from scuba diving IRL thats for certain.

Pressing f1 brings up a debug menu which will tell you your current biome the compass helps a lot as well. (There is also a map online of you really need a hand)

Guys, I lost my seamoth the other night... explored a little further than I should have! :)

Where can I find upgrades for it, my previous upgrade allowed me to go down to 300m

Here be an album of my bases as I didn't want to directly link them here since there's quite a few.

I only have 2 bases, with the secondary one above the Lost River entrance now being my main. Since it is a large base, modifying it has sprung up an issue - build lag at the moment is about 5secs between placing base elements!

Edit: Just found the upload in HQ option on imgur. Too late :(

I get the same build lag on my walk-to-the-depths base, must be down to the number of pieces I have placed as the base currently runs from near the start area all the way down 900m past the Lost River and toward the edge of the lava caves and I still need to keep building yet to reach the lava crater

lol you're going to be facing epic lag I reckon. My 2nd base isn't even that large and the lag is enough to annoy, when placing things!

Got lost in my last game. Something about being in a dead zone. Pitch black in my Seamoth so I turn around to reassure myself there's nothing behind me.

Yeah, massive ghost reaper with its gob wide open.

Sent a shiver right through me and **** me right up. Love it!

Waiting for the headline "Man dies of heart attack through scary VR experience"

Yeah the Void is a place you don't want to be unless you're prepared...I almost got wrecked there earlier in my main Cyclops, whilst being greedy for a time capsule. Two Ghosties appeared and battered my sub senseless before chasing me for a good distance. I had to keep my shields up permanently for a while and if I hadn't Ion cells I'd have lost my first cyclops!

What’s the best way of powering secondary bases?
I use a bioreactor and solar panels for my main but it’s near the surface and I’m always there to fill the reactor.
I’ve built ones on the ocean floor and they run out of power which flashes up annoying notifications

Nuclear Reactor + Bio-Reactor works best for me gives loads of power.

I only used one secondary base but used the nuclear reactor with the full 4 fuel rods. I used a bioreactor at the surface base but never had too much issue keeping it powered, I just used to throw any eggs and fish in it that I had found.

In your secondary base build a Bioreactor and an indoor growbed or two and fill them with plants for fuel, or use a thermal plant (if black Smokers are nearby) in conjunction with power transmitters to send power to your base.

All power runs out except solar or geothermal.

You can use power extenders to increase range from either the surface (make platforms up to the top with extenders on) or from a geothermal vent.

Its best to look for those when building deep bases!
