Subnautica

I think so - was quite awhile ago now I did the stuff on Aurora - went into 3 code locked rooms.

EDIT: Are you talking about the communication that gives the approx. location of some stuff? I've got that and I've found the entrance to the lava area.

What about "Neptune"? Does that word mean anything to you?

Yeah I have the option for that and I can figure out what happens if I use it without turning something else off first ;)

Haha, now we're getting somewhere. So you're at the end game which has two tracks. The first one is "Neptune" and the second one needs you to visit two places in the Lava zone. I would never have found one of them without looking it up on the Wiki.

Thing is though I've mostly been making progress because I can figure it out partly because I've some game development experience and can get into the mind of the designer - in terms of actual threads in the game I've kind of run into a dead end and I find it kind of boring just aimlessly exploring hoping something pops up that leads to the next bit.

OK, read through your data pad about all the four facilities. That might give you a picture and/or clue as to where to look.

Meh my Cyclops drains power ridiculously fast - from reading online I'm guessing it is a bug - can't even do 1km (with upgrades to reduce power use and everything possible turned off) before it has drained the power cells.

You haven't got it switched on Silent Running have you? That eats the power cells very quickly.

Nope I checked through all that after reading up on it online. A few suggestions that building things like fabricators, etc. in it can sometimes cause it and deconstructing and reconstructing them can fix it but a lot of faff now I've got it all setup :( (I've not built powercell rechargers in it).

Pretty much this. I was in a similar position too; thought attempting to go deeper might help too since the pods kept being discovered in deeper locations.

There are other ways to charge power cells without a power cell charger - I discovered 4. Still haven't found the last power cell charger fragment, and I've now completed the story.

Weirdly now getting the delayed texture/geometry pop-in and occasional stutter people have been complaining about - guess I've got enough going on in the game now it is pushing the engine - upto this point it has been totally smooth - still playable though.

Started a new game and I'm about 5 hours in now. I forgot how good the soundtrack is to this game, from the load screen all the way through to every biome you come across. Just love it.

Sometimes it perfectly amplifies the mood in quite arbitrary gameplay sequences - suddenly making a tense bit even more tense or a more relaxed bit even more peaceful - outside of the normal game triggers and biome transitions.

The music when you enter the Lost River area just makes it even more spooky. Sounds like a giant heartbeat. (It's called "Lava Castle" on the official soundtrack.)

Messing about near the Lava Castle area now with the Prawn suit - only got it upgraded to 1300m depth and no grapple... I might even have to build some stuff down there to get out again LOL.

The game took a massive nose dive for me to be honest once it progressed beyond what I could do with the Seamoth and the story threads becoming more obscure. Upto this point I was quite eager to play it now it is almost playing for the sake of it to complete it.

Know what you mean. For me it stopped being a fun game and started to be a weary trawl to the end round about when I got to the lava zones.
through that now and on to the final build and escape phase but haven't bothered to hammer the last nail in yet.
