Summer Transfer Thread 2018

Doubt he'd ruin him but he's getting on, although I guess that makes him a decent Mourinho purchase with a short term view.

Also following Duncan castles for non-comedic value is a bad time

Way too injury prone. Regardless of if he plays in a fair amount of games it's often broken up in chunks which means he doesn't get any rhythm or maintain team consistency.

Too risky, but for the record the money is daft across the football world, I don't care how much is spent if the club has the income (which it's clear they do). It's the finance guys job to balance the books and understand what's affordable or not.

Can's signed a 4 year deal with Juventus. We've already signed a far better box to box midfielder in Keita and a far better defensive midfielder in Fabinho so our midfield will undoubtedly be stronger without him.

If he can reach the heights of his once or twice yearly barnstorming performances every week, Juventus will have one hell of a player on their hands but I can't see him ever reaching the potential he and his agent believe he has.

I'm a bit annoyed it is on a free but I'm not too bothered about him leaving, especially with the two signings already. As you said, far too inconsistent to be a top player, for every game where he dominates the mid field there is another where he can't pass and losses the ball every 5 minutes.

Fred is more of a creative midfielder I think, which we absolutely do need...

I have very limited knowledge on him to be honest but a few places have him down as a DM. 2 goals and 1 assist in 22 games suggests DM to me?

That's from whoscored.com, another site has 5 goals in 40 games.

I'm pretty sure Spurs will get a handsome cut in this deal.. I recall Levy put a clause in the contract if he returns to the PL within 5 years.. I could be wrong.

They have first refusal if sold to a PL club. Meaning if united bid 100m, spurs get the option to pay the 100m first and sign him. Something Spurs wont be able to afford.

Initially I was like hell no, until I read Fellaini would be a free transfer. Not bad then if that's the case. (Arsenal rumours)

The fact we are being linked so far with two free transfers and one loan shows you we have low funds.
