What has Messi got to do with what we pay a bang average player, that's the whole issue, he isn't anywhere good enough to be first choice striker at United, the fact the club is rich has nothing to do with it, paying mediocre players huge salary's will do serious damage. He hasn't done anything to warrant a higher salary than our rivals play their star players.

you have no idea what mediocre means if you think that's what Rashford is at 21yo (when he isn't expected to be at his peak for 5 or 6 years)

Good for you if you feel a 22 year old with 25 career league goals is worth 200k+ a week in your infinite business and footballing knowledge, but back in the real world this kind of money is why we get fleeced constantly and have to watch the side show week after week.

Already predicting next season? Liverpool have had a fantastic season no doubt. Let's see if they can keep it up for a second. Liverpool will not be doing the deals this summer because they do not have the money to do so not because they do not want to.

Both AOC and Keita were big money signings and haven't done anything of note yet. AOC still has to prove himself after injury.

Sorry, what exactly did I predict? I made a statement that our back 4 is the best in the League, if not Europe.

And we don't have money? :D Our EBIDTA (simply put our cash profits before all paper expenses) for the season before last was just shy of £100m and that's likely to have increased last season. To say we don't have the money to do deals is simply laughable.

Ox picking up a freak injury can't be held against our scouting/transfer department :confused: He was looking like being a fantastic signing prior to his injury - only time will tell whether he will pick up from where he left off though. As for Keita, he still has to prove himself but 1 big money signing in the time Klopp's been at the club to not hit the ground running isn't too bad if you ask me.

AOC cost £35m, which I'd argue is a pretty standard signing for a top 6 club.

Keita was more but still not absurd.

Regardless, neither are defenders, and the point being made is that Liverpool's defence is a bargain, so I'm not sure why AOC or Keita are even relevant
 
don't you get like 50-60m for winning the champions league aswell. Liverpool could go spend 100-150m on players but who would we buy?

And on the other topic. yes Rashford on 200k is stupid. he's on more money than anyone at liverpool.

Our CL revenue was a tad under £100m, up from approx £70m the season before last. As above, the club are generating £100m+ in cash profits from the general day to day running of the business - on top of that we've also brought in £35-40m from Solanke and Ings. There's no shortage of money if Klopp and the recruitment team want to spend it. They won't unless the right player and the right deal are available though.

How can someone take over a club like Arsenal, watch it fall down the league, and invest nothing whilst the value of the club raises. He isn't an owner he is a hostage taker!!

probably a secret spurs fan Kronke is. doing his best to destroy the club lol.

The Owner needs to invest 300m minimum to arsenal regardless of whether we made CL or not and use that 300m to buy smartly.

We could get a world class CB for 100m and use the rest to get a winger, LB , Ramset replacement and another decent CB. 4 /5players for 300m would benefit arsenal a lot

AOC is a bargain compared to what crytal palace want for Zaha...
 
Leeds sign Costa on loan from Wolves. Dead chuffed with that one, really exciting player and Bielsa will get the best out of him

Yep that would sort us out. 2 decent players last January and we would be in the Champions League. And the money spent would have been returned by the extra income.

The thing is, because the value of premiership clubs have risen so much. He could have put in 300m and still be sitting on a profit. For all the money the Russian has spent as Chelsea, he could still sell up and make a packet.
