Summer Transfer Thread 2019

Can't say I'll miss Herrera. The horrible whining **** never got 10% of the **** he deserved for his cheating. He spent half his time on the pitch screaming, rolling around on the floor or holding his face.

I always rated him and think he will be a loss

still bitter that Gerrard got sent off in sub 40 seconds for stamping on Herrera

Best thing is part of the deal was that Barca can't bid for any other Liverpool player for a good while, maybe even as long as three or four seasons. Blinding bit of business IMO!

I think the actual clause is they have to pay a premium of 100m euros on top of any fee. Not sure it's worth the paper it's written on though.

That and he's generally a little *****. Has there been a game where he's not screamed, rolled around clutching his face in the 5 years he has been at Utd?

Yeah I dislike him from that point of view. But he always had a good work rate and was really effective in being disruptive to players like Hazard.

I'm not sure where Spurs go next.

What should our aims be - challenge for the league? Focus on CL? Win a domestic trophy?

We don't have the money to compete at the top level. To improve our first team would take a massive capital injection and money being spent on wages to retain Eriksen and Tobey. Squad improvement is a little easier to fund but harder to find candidates - we need to recruit homegrown players because our squad doesn't have the capacity for anymore "foreigners" under CL rules.

If Poch could only win the CL, I could retire from supporting football!

that's what i feel when i watch refalona the whole team does it

Man Utd in the Championship are a bigger draw than Celtic, no offence :p

is that why Larsson stayed at Celtic during his prime to then go to Barcelona then United in his latter years before retiring?

Some people can't be bought. Tierney is likely one of them. The draw of a treble treble then a quadruple treble and 9 in a row, then eventually going for 10 in a row which will immortalise him in the club he loves is enough to stave off interest for now. To be part of the team that wins 10 in a row will make his legacy and people will idolise him for the rest of his life and thereafter. Whereas finishing 6th in the premiership nobody will remember him.

United won't be winning anything of note soon. Celtic are going to remake history over the next 2 seasons and this season if they win the cup.

So no united in the championship wouldn't be a bigger draw than Celtic to anyone apart from mercenaries.

Where’s the appeal of winning a one team league? Meh.

Anyway I don’t think we’re even interested in any Celtic players, lucky for you!

It’s surprising so many people think we can sign Dybala. If he was available loads of teams would be in for him.

From a Leicester point of view, hoping we manage to sign Tielemans permanently although wouldn't be surprised if any of the top 6 (apart from Man City) tried to sign him. Other than that, hoping we hold on to all our players and add a new CB and striker.
