Summer Transfer Thread 2019

He's not 32 and won't be earning £150k+ per week though. I just fail to see how signing a CB that's proven himself to be a liability a good thing.
Well we’ll have to wait and see how it goes. He’s not long term though. We have Holding, and Saliba will be back next year, so it screams of a signing to bridge the gap.

£25m is a marquee moment no longer will Southampton be signing our best for peanuts and the money to sign another right back. Hayes can be kept as backup for boli. We need a utility player too who can play anywhere like Milner.

Midfield and up top we are fine.

We need shot of sinclair. If Everton need a winger he is available
You’ve obviously watched him far more than me, how well do you think he’ll do in the prem?

He's good on the ball. Very good control. He likes to take players on and isn't shy to do so. Makes overlapping runs when it suits and played possession football under Rodgers. Solid defensively and likes a tackle.

Will likely struggle for the first few months as he recovers from a double hernia op. But once he settles in he should prove to be a bargain.

He's the best defender we have had since van dijk who took several years to settle in the Premier league. If he's given the chance to play regularly with time he will likely be on peps radar at City.

Whenever he has been missing from our squad we looked flat. He added so much to our attack he was amazing for opening teams up.
Pep will be gone by that stage imo. I think he’s got 2 years tops left.

Would you say he’s definitely better than Monreal and Kola?

What's the situation with Spurs? They were actively trying to sell Rose all summer and according to reports, also trying to find a buyer for Eriksen in the last few weeks of the window. I guess Eriksen probably still moves abroad but Rose?
Can’t see them flogging Eriksen now that our windows shut.

I feel Everton are being a disingenuous when they are saying that Iwobi has been a big transfer target for them this window.

I’m pretty sure he was the fallback option when they couldn’t get Zaha.

3 summers ago I was sure we needed a central midfielder and left back - we didn't sign either, Klopp played Milner at LB and converted Lallana and Wijnaldum into CM's and we made top 4. Two summers ago I was sure that we needed a CB and a CM - we couldn't get VVD or Keita so Klopp waited, we made the top 4 again and the CL final. 12 months ago I was sure we were a forward light to really challenge for the biggest honours - we won the CL and picked up 97 points.

I still think we're an attacker short of being able to match City in terms of depth but I've learned to trust Klopp and co to make the right decisions. I'm sure they too would have wanted another player or two but they won't settle for 2nd rate players, they had to be the right players and the fact that we've not made a meaningful signing is because the players we want aren't available.
Such a shame Sturridge was so injury prone. A properly fit, sharp and reliable Sturridge would have been a great backup.

A fit Sturridge wouldn't change my opinion of our attacking options. Sturridge or any centre forward will only ever be cover for Firmino. What I think we need is another wide forward that can cover Salah and Mane, if they can cover Firmino too then great but that's not a priority as Salah and Mane have shown they're more than capable of doing that.
You mean like a Lucas Moura type player?

A few Spurs players need to be asked quite bluntly if they want to play for the club or not. Eriksen needs to be fully dropped from team selection and training now. The uncertainty is too disruptive. I'm personally livid that the owner have let this drag on for so long.. Rose and Toby haven't helped either. The problem is they get to a point where they couldn't give a damn about the club. For them there's always another club..
You honestly would drop him for the Arsenal game?
