Neither are anywhere near fabregas or nasri quality but given who we had before today im very pleased with what weve ended up with

santos
park
mertesacker
benayoun
arteta

thats bolstered our weak squad a lot imo certainly help us push to stay in top 4 imo

Yup, I agree. Your midfield is by no means bad at all. Ramsey will become a class player, as will Wilshere. Song and Rosicky are solid, and Yossi and Arteta are good additions, if not top class. Your first choice defense is now strong (although I don't know much about Santos), and RvP is a fantastic striker when fit.

You've not got much in depth still, but if you are lucky with injuries you could be okay.

Yakubu just said 'they've got a big history' when talking about his move to Blackburn. Errrrr... apart from the PL title, nothing else. He'll be in the Championship with them next season. :D

Are you on a wind up or trying to make him feel good about his team?

Benayoun aside I'd be very underwhelmed with those signings

Sczezny

Sagna -- Vermaelen -- Mertesacker -- Santos

Wilshere -- Song -- Arteta

Walcott -- RvP -- Gervinho

Decent first team if you ask me?

underwhelmed by mertesacker whos one half of the german solid centre back pairing that england can never break through in internationals :o

arteta a bloke whos either lost his form or perhaps lost his interest in everton and could maybe recapture his form that made him a great playmaker?

hmmm ya

Don't agree about the midfield, still too much emphasis on playmakers & no decent commanding midfield 'general'. Only my opinion though.

I do agree with that, and it is a weakness, but I still reckon it's not a bad first team. Song, when on form, is commanding, Vermaelen and Mertesacker should provide leadership from the back, and RvP is vastly experienced up top. Yes, there isn't a true enforcer in the middle, but I don't think that that is quite as big an issue as some people make out.

Still feels like we should have gotten ourselves a spare DM for when SongPong go off to the ACN, especially with Lansbury going.

Guess I'd better start learning to actually recognise Coquelin in a lineup.

Yep considering recent years im more than happy with that. Plenty of experience.

Fact is we could never replace Fabregas fully. We couldn't afford someone top-quality because of the crazy wages the worlds top clubs now pay, and he was one of the world's best at his job. Arteta has PL experience, he won't get called off to play for Spain because he's got a load of immense players in front of him, and at 29 he's got a few years left.

Also lol
