Yeah ultimately these are players with experience, regardless of how great they are. If they can impart a little calm/advice/inspiration to the younger players then it can only be a good thing. Obviously we'd all like awesome players but currently the club is 2nd tier when it comes to wages and if you're trying to prise great players away from clubs, then
a) top top players aren't financially feasible from a wages point of view
b) top players at clubs at a similar level to us are generally looking to move 'up' rather than across, again looking for top-tier wages.

benayoun is pretty much a done deal and looks like arteta is gonna join now too

If we can get both of those in then that will add a little bit of depth at least. Quite pleased with our defensive signings and I can't wait to see how Mertesacker adapts to the EPL, really excited about him.

I am honestly quite happy with the signings/possible signings so far for arsenal. Arteta is still a good player IMO, should do a good job. All the players you have to remember come with lots of the main thing Arsenal are lacking; experience.

Why would you do this? It's like poking a sleeping bear with a stick and expecting the outcome to be positive.

I'm pleased to see some of the Arsenal fans being a bit more optimistic now you've signed a few players, it might even cheer up some of the people at work which is good because it's depressing listening to complaints about Wenger all day.
