I'm sure an extra £5m/year in wages could help with the pain of leaving Scott.

an extra £5m a year? so you'd be willing to pay him close to £8m a year?

anyway, he's minted as it is and considering his roots, i think he's not one for being too greedy and just wants to play football. chelsea just got inside his head.

what happened to walcott? never really lived up to his potential.

And he never will because simply put Wenger is trying to make him into a winger, which he is not. Perhaps if Wenger got it through his thick skull that playing him as a striker might reap dividends then maybe just maybe Walnut will realise his potential one day but until that happens, he never will be the footballer that pundits were raving about a few yrs ago.

He has great speed and pace but beyond that he offers nothing, his crossing is atrocious and equally his decision making when on the ball is even more worse.

Many fans have said he may make, well, a Hernandez type player, very limited in behind. His passing is crap, his running with the ball is crap, he has zero tricks, though is very entertaining going around players. Not of course because he's good, but because most of the time he does a "trick" to get around a player, he steps on the ball and it bounces around in a flukey mannor and happens to drop nicely for him :p

He is fast, in a straight line WITHOUT the ball, he's decidedly average speed WITH the ball, he has almost no technical ability, he panics frequently infront of goal. He's also a complete chicken ****, which is also what hurts him infront of goal. When he gets through on goal he often shoots early from a poor position, you rarely if ever see him go around a keeper and slot it in which just about any other top striker does all the time.

His pace is also useless, a slower player who see's a 50/50 and goes and wins it is far more useful than a little ***** who can get to the ball to fight for it, but is unwilling to fight so doesn't run in the first place. Positionally horrible, offensively and defensively, when he tracks back(the few times a season) to help at right back he stands in stupid places and basically doesn't help at all.

he's just one of those players who jogs around, lazy, with zero effort unless he's sure he'll get the ball easily.

Also yes, Wenger is certainly going to do everything he can to keep him, and daft rumours of Juve's interest will pop up with his agent trying to scare Wenger into offering a higher wage.

He should be sold, I'd prefer to see him go for nothing in a year than give him 1 extra day on his contract, even at half his current wage I wouldn't keep him, absolutely worthless idiot.

There was a quite good article that basically said, no one has EVER told him he's done badly, after an entirely crap game you see him blame everyone else in so many words. He believes he can do no wrong, he already thinks he's at the top of his game, he isn't trying to improve because he doesn't think he needs to, much the same way Wenger isn't trying to replace Song/Diaby/Denilson/Theo with better players because he can't recognise how useless they are.

I mean, Walcott instead of staying behind training like the worlds best players and practicing shooting, is off writing kids books and his own autobiography, he's a joke, he will never improve, because he isn't even trying to.

Last thing on speed, the thing that makes Henry/Messi/Ronaldo so epic is they are fast without the ball and almost exactly as fast moving with the ball. Walcott both doesn't have the balls or effort to run his fastest without the ball most of the time, and with the ball he's not very fast at all, I wish people stopped saying he only has pace, he doesn't use pace as a weapon at all in his game.

DM, have you seen his Wikipedia entry? It's no wonder he thinks that he's superman:

Walcott is well known for his blistering pace, with Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola declaring that “you would need a pistol to stop him.” He has been likened by Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger to Walcott's teammate, Thierry Henry. FIFA World Player of the Year winner Lionel Messi has described Walcott as "one of the most dangerous players I have ever played against."

:o :o :o

£55mill available to Wenger this summer to spend and rumours are we will end up spunking it on Podolski and Gotze....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...-plan-55m-bid-Lukas-Podolski-Mario-Gotze.html

Daily Fail as per usual so take it with a pinch of salt....tbh id rather see us ditch the crap players we have and buy some decent defenders because the main problem we have is our defence which is as leaky as the Hoover dam with holes in it:p.

Walcott being rubbish part 1
Walcott being rubbish part 2

Between those two posts you've both summed up everything thats wrong with Walcott (and to an extent football in general). Too much emphasis is put on pace (even just pace off the ball) as the theory is you can teach someone fast how to kick a ball but you can't teach someone who can kick a ball how to be fast.

Anyway there was the traditional joke rumour that he was coming back to Saints. I'd rather pay him not to come back ;) (ox can come back though).

Walcott is exactly like Jonathan Forte (who we have sent on loan to Notts County), fast and rubbish. I think every team has had one, or just has employed Forte...
