Arsenal have apparently accepted £3m from five clubs...up to the player now (Bendtner)
Unfortunately no one truly knows what goes on behind the scenes even you DM
I did mean in the past, he was apparently looking for 8mil + over the past 3 years which is why he ended up on loan at Sunderland, then on loan at Juve, because rather than move him on, Wenger decides "I won't play him, but he's worth X amount and I won't just let him leave for less", so we have these guys hang around for ages being unused by Wenger.
I think Bendtner has genuine quality, he was one of the single most effective attackers in the Euro's, showing precisely what his best role is, which is get the ball, hold it up, play it into those running forwards then get towards the goal and get on the end of crosses or just force defenders to mark. He's not as good as Muller, at all, but he plays a very very similar way, full of movement, full of hardwork, was effective playing on the wing and putting in defensive work which you wouldn't expect from players of those guys size. Neither are players you expect to do anyone for pace(most of the time) or do tricks and step overs, but they just know where to be and when and pop up with crucial passes, goals.
Chamakh is a significantly worse version of the same kind of player, who was plenty effective when in the team, then not used at all. Some of not being able to get rid of these players is wages, but mostly its Wenger's asking fee, other clubs would push players that aren't used out the door for a couple mil to free up the wages... Wenger is a deluded moron. Arshavin, for a player of his quality is on a wage that dozens of European teams would match, but Wenger wanted too much for a transfer fee.
Chamakh was really one of the only guys Wenger wanted to move on whose wages wouldn't be matched elsewhere because he got "free transfer" wages and really isn't good enough for anything near them. Bendtner is on lower wages that weren't really a problem, transfer fee was the hold up, Arshavin is genuine quality, and on a pretty low wage for that kind of player, transfer fee again. Actually Denilson counts as both, higher wage and Wenger was asking for money WAY beyond what he was worth. Diaby, Rosicky and co don't count as Wenger uses them when he can and clearly doesn't want to get rid of them, should he try I'd imagine he'd want more than anyone would pay for Diaby and he's on higher wages than anyone else was willing to go.
